TV show description:
This TV series gives a new take on the classic Arthur Conan Doyle characters. It’s a modern-day drama about a crime-solving duo that cracks the NYPD’s most impossible cases.
Following his fall from grace in London and a stint in rehab, eccentric detective Sherlock Holmes (Jonny Lee Miller) escapes to Manhattan where his wealthy father forces him to live with his worst nightmare — a sober companion, Doctor Joan Watson (Lucy Liu). She was a successful surgeon until she lost a patient and her license three years ago.
Watson views her current job as another opportunity to help people, as well as paying a penance. However, the restless Sherlock is nothing like her previous clients. He informs her that none of her expertise as an addiction specialist applies to him and he’s devised his own post-rehab regimen — resuming his work as a police consultant in New York City.
Watson finds she has no choice but to accompany her irascible new charge on his jobs. In the end, Sherlock finds her medical background helpful, and Watson realizes she has a knack for playing investigator.
Sherlock’s police contact is Captain Tobias “Toby” Gregson (Aidan Quinn). He knows, from previously working with Scotland Yard, that Sherlock is brilliant at closing cases, and welcomes him as part of the team.
Episode #154 — The Last Bow
Amidst Holmes and Watson’s battle with tech billionaire Odin Reichenbach, the investigators receive word of their old enemy and Sherlock’s former love, Jamie Moriarty.
First aired: August 15, 2019.
What do you think? Do you like the Elementary TV series on CBS? Do you think it should have ended or been renewed for season eight?
After watching tonight’s Season Finale, I’m pretty sure it’s more like a Series Finale, so why didn’t the network just list it as such? The show has had several near misses in the past so of course they’re going to cancel it. I wish they wouldn’t but perhaps the actors are ready to move on to other projects, or they’re just leaving us hanging and going to announce the cancellation later. I highly doubt they’re going to film them working with Scotland Yard, although I wouldn’t mind that change. I would miss the other characters though. Yes, I believe another… Read more »
I look forward to watching new episodes each week and am never disappointed.
Season to season, Elementary continues to uphold the tradition of Sir Arthur Conan Doyle, in a modern venue. My compliments to the writers, and all associates of the program.
I totally enjoy this show. The interaction of the top players is well worth tuning into. Coupled with plots makes this a welcome change from the majority of what is offered on television. Bring them back!!!!!
My woife & I have been watching this since the beginning. This show is highly respected in the leo community. The actors are awesome & the writing is great. No super powers or magic, just human ingenuity, is what makes this show great. Now that Holmes has returned to his namesakes England & working for MI6, it will really rock! Plus the show needs to develop the relationship of him & Joan. Please renew, ur addicted fans are waiting in anxiety… Thank you, Miguel
There are exactly 2 shows on network television that I watch without fail: Blue Bloods and Elementary. While it may be true that every good thing must eventually come to an end–heaven being the exception –Elementary and the characters of Holmes and Watson have only tapped the surface of their potential. Johnny Lee Miller’s portrayal of Holmes is nothing short of brilliant, and now that he’s back at 221B Baker Street, the short segue in NY can be seen as simply the prelude to bigger and better things. Holmes and Watson are back where they belong and the show MUST… Read more »
I really enjoy this show with its great acting and absorbing plots. Please do not cancel it!
No. Elementary should not be cancelled. It is a smart show, something to look forward to unlike reality crap shows.
Please don’t cancel Elementary. I enjoy the complex story lines and the developing relationships between the actors. Too much junk on TV; give us a break by renewing!
Please keep this intelligent and well-acted television show on the air. Jonny Lee Miller and Lucy Liu make a excellent team. Looking forward to new episodes in the 221B location and more of Lucy’s direction.
Elementary is one of the few shining lights in an otherwise simple-minded, unimaginative CBS lineup. It is no wonder that CBS has lost its position as #1 network. Based on the fall 2018 schedule, since CBS aired Elementary as a summer show (so it is not in the fall lineup), there are actually only three other shows I will watch on CBS – Survivor, Blue Bloods and Criminal Minds (which, itself, has been getting poorer each year by bringing in cast members that just don’t fit. I am a fan of the Amazing Race, but it is not in the… Read more »
Please renew this show. This is one of the few television series that my husband and I enjoy watching together. The writing is well done. The endings are not easily deduced. The performance quality is always fantastic.
I love this show and will be very sorry to see it be cancelled. It is clever and intriguing. I love mysteries and this show is an amazing adaptation of the original stories of Conan Doyle. Please bring back this entertaining show!
Elementary is outstanding and I sincerely hope it is not cancelled. There are scores of shows on tv presently that are rubbish. This one rises to the top five presently on tv.
Pls don’t cancel Elementary. It’s the best show I have ever seen! It get better and better every week and the writers are the best! I just hope that we have many many more episodes and more years of it. I can’t understand why why a series is good they just take it off the air. Please don’t take this one also, it’s the best of the best!
