The mystery won’t be solved on Emergence. ABC has revealed they’ve cancelled the Tuesday night drama series so there won’t be a second season.
The Emergence TV series follows Jo Evans (Allison Tolman), a newly divorced police chief who ends up taking in a young child named Piper (Alexa Swinton) who is found at the site of a mysterious accident and she has no memory of what happened. Jo’s investigation into the child’s mystery draws her into a conspiracy that is larger than she could have imagined. The cast also includes Alexa Swinton, Owain Yeoman, Ashley Aufderheide, Robert Bailey Jr., Zabryna Guevara, Donald Faison, and Clancy Brown.
The first season of Emergence, which wrapped in January 2020, averaged a 0.49 rating in the 18-49 demographic and 2.71 million viewers.
Despite having an enthusiastic fan base, Emergence ended up losing half of its audience over the course of the season and ended up being one of the network’s worst-performing shows.
What do you think? Did you enjoy watching the Emergence TV series? Would you have watched season two on ABC?
It was a promising show killed by filming too much in the dark so you can barely see what’s happening and a slow and boring plot. Siren will be next. I have given up on it too. Only thing worse is American Idol which has become show tunes try outs. No rock and almost no country. They need to bring Randy Jackson back. Old folks have more energy than these guys. Goof for taking a nap to.
Thats just ridiculous. Only show in years to interest me. Boo ABC!!!
Wow, well another great show cancelled by ABC. Emergence was the only show I watched on this network. I said I’d never watch another show on ABC after they left us hanging with the amazing show Forever with Ioan Gruffudd. That’s ok, because he went on to make Harrow and it’s still going strong. Yeah, ABC should stick to doing lame shows and not try to air really intelligent deep thinking interesting things..leave that to the other networks. Bless their little hearts. Hopefully someone else will pick Emergence up
Made a mistake, It’s ABC
I’ll tell you NBC is really getting on my last nerve. You start watching a show, you start really liking the show, you like all the people on the show and then they cancel it. I feel like I don’t want to watch TV anymore. Thanks NBC , you just lost another viewer.
I really enjoyed the show. Joe and Piper had great chemistry on the set. Would have love to have seen the full potential of Piper.
I’m really, really disappointed. Yes, I would have definitely watched it. It was a good show with great actors. They didn’t give it a chance before cancelling it. Makes you think about not watching or being interested in any TV shows because who wants to watch something that never gets an ending. Big mistake cancelling this great show.
OMG, another favorite show cancelled NBC is now on my list of sucky networks along with CBS! Great show not given a chance. Yet the renew these stupid reality shows! Go figure!
ABC cancelled it. Would be a good NBC show if they’d pick it up.
The show went from one thing to another, the plot flipped so many times, killed the main guy in the second episode or third , i mean , this show was a mess from the start and i thing they rewrote everithing.
wtf why i am sick and tired of this happening crap singing shows and other like that get so many seasons but shows like this one gets took off yet again another show i loved has gone yet again sick of it now
Loved the show, but as usual they remove the good shows and leave the BS reality shows on!
I definitely would have watched season 2. It was a good show and I loved the characters.
We really liked the show every show we like they cancel
I agree, the show was stupid!
originally, interesting premise but then, it got so slow and contrived….even by the finale they had run out of ideas…….won’t miss it, in fact, had forgotten it existed til this article!
