Expedition Bigfoot is coming back for a second season. Travel Channel has renewed the series, and it will premiere with new episodes in January. Russell Acord, Ronny LeBlanc, Dr. Mireya Mayor, and Bryce Johnson are the team searching for the mysterious bigfoot. During the first season of the series, the team moved one step closer to finding the legendary creature.
Travel Channel revealed more about the return of the series in a press release.
“2020 may just be the year the world turned upside down. But for Travel Channel’s Expedition Bigfoot team, it was a rare moment in time when three very important sets of data converged – and put them one step closer to capturing evidence of the legendary, elusive creature. The “Expedition Bigfoot” team have reassembled to review their findings from last season and reevaluate the algorithm to respond to the uptick in Bigfoot sightings just this year, in the new one-hour special premiering on Sunday, January 3 at 8 p.m. ET/PT. Then the team hit the ground running for an exciting Season Two, premiering at 9 p.m. ET/PT.
The advanced data algorithm has revealed a 75,000-acre swatch of Appalachian forest in southeast Kentucky, where the mathematical odds of a Bigfoot encounter are greatly increased during a specific 21-day window. With limited time and opportunity, the team – including Bryce Johnson (expedition operations); Dr. Mireya Mayor (primatologist); Russell Acord (ex-military/survivalist); Ronny LeBlanc (Bigfoot researcher) – have honed in on promising new targets. And this year, their analysis has uncovered something new – possible Bigfoot migratory patterns that may reveal precisely where the legendary beasts will be and when they will be there.
Throughout their two-month journey, the team use the latest in advanced technologies to narrow their search within the designated target zones. As the investigation intensifies, evidence that Bigfoot are in the area begins to pile up – vocalizations, unexplained structures, DNA samples and massive 16-inch footprints that no man could have left behind. This scientific expedition may finally take one of the world’s greatest mysteries out of the pages of legend and lore and into reality. The new season is comprised of 12 new one-hour episodes and two one-hour specials.
“Using science, technology and true grit, the team is genuinely invested in solving this iconic mystery and it’s a wild and exciting ride – closing in on the legendary monster that is also the world champion of being socially distant,” said Matthew Butler, general manager, Travel Channel.”
What do you think? Are you a fan of Expedition Bigfoot? Will you watch season two on Travel Channel?
I like expedition bigfoot but I do not like that this new season is only on every other week. They should extend the episodes to at least 90 minutes if their going to only show it every other week. Bunch of BS.
Why would you show first 2 episodes of season 2 and then just up and leave. I’m already paying for discovery in my direct tv bill. So you went from Travel channel to discovery+.
When will new Expedition Bigfoot and other paranormal shows return to the Travel channel?
We’re already paying for cable and internet on a retirement budget. Just can’t afford to be paying more for programs that were on cable. Sorry. Watched the first episode on cable and they cut it off without an ending.
I am disappointed that the new shows of Expedition Bigfoot are on Travel Plus only. In this time of Coronavirus, people are having problems just paying their mortgage, but you are asking them to pay extra to stream the new episodes. Not a good time to put extra on America’s families. Travel channel should have thought this thru. I AM NOT A FAN OF TRAVEL CHANNEL.
What? So that’s what it’s all about. We have to pay extra? WOW. This is sad. Just another dig for American people. You all are something else. Lost us as a subscriber.
What happened to the show tonite? You’re playing the repeats? We were so pumped to watch and you’re playing last weeks show. I hope you’re not stopping in the middle of an episode.
Guess what? We’ve missed one episode so far and all future episodes…unless you subscribe to discovery+. I saw this coming a few days ago with some of their other shows that are now ONLY on discovery+.
I’ve watched the S2/Episode 1 and tonight, I watched S2/Episode 2 even though I’m greatly disappointed in the producer’s decision to take the team to Kentucky. The 3 people , (not including Bryce, who I would place as a coordinator more so than a field researcher), are among some of the most thorough and experienced among those who have been put together in other Bigfoot reality shows. For this reason, I felt like the fact that the producer didn’t have them do at least one more season in the same location in Oregon as they did in season one, proves… Read more »
I believe that this group of Bigfoot researchers have the most realistic approach to proving that Bigfoot exists. Using the latest technology available as opposed to the hunches and wild imaginations that so many other Bigfoot hunters have shown, makes for a really interesting show to watch. You have my attention.
I was a ‘Bigfoot believer’ since before the Patterson/Gimlin film was first released on TV back in ’67. My friends and I were keeping up with newspaper articles of sightings in our area in NW New Jersey, (Yes, I said “New Jersey”). Then I turned into a firm ‘Bigfooter’ and was certain that Patterson & Gimlin were speaking the truth after I watched their film that late afternoon on our B&W TV. I watched the First season of “Expedition Bigfoot” and I was actually impressed! Most of the other so-called “reality shows” that chased after Bigfoot were predictable and transparent.… Read more »
YESSS!! So excited they are renewing this show!! I miss Finding Bigfoot and this show is even more exciting. Can’t wait to see what you found. Thank you for doing what you do. I’m a firm believer that we just don’t know what Bigfoot is yet. An undiscovered species, so to speak. Got my DVR set and ready to go!
You might want to check you DVR settings. I just learned it’s now ONLY on discovery+.
like watching the show but am skeptical that it is real or that they spent the entire time that they claim they did. A couple of things I have trouble with is the fact that they always look freshly groomed especially after a week in it looks like the guys just got a haircut and the girl’s nails are still perfect. Their camp doesn’t show a cook area and they never sit around the campfire discussing things. But I do like watching the show and take it for what it is worth entertainment.
I’m Very Excited that the show is coming back. It’s by far the Best Bigfoot information I’ve ever seen. Ed
Glad they are coming back enjoyed the first season
To producers of Destination Bigfoot;
I have been trying, NUMEROUS TIMES, to get in touch with your show!!! On the season finale of your show, I have 100% proof that a Bigfoot was spotted inside the cave by your drone’s camera!!! I have since kept a copy of the show’s finale to prove it to you!!! You can e-mail me or call me.
Thank-you, VERY much!!!
God Bless, Julie McKernan
That’s so exciting! I hope they contact you!
Anything yet? If not, I believe the cast all have twitter accounts so maybe better luck with a tweet or DM.
