It looks like MTV has a big hit on their hands. Today, the network announced the recent premiere of their Fear Factor revival series broke ratings records.
Hosted by Ludacris, the reboot follows contestants as they “confront their fears, be pushed beyond their comfort zones and take action against some of their biggest stressors with the use of today’s newest technologies.”
According to MTV, Fear Factor‘s May 30th premiere was the network’s highest-rated series debut in two years. Overall, the premiere earned a . 83 rating in the 18-34 demo and nearly one million viewers, which also made it Tuesday’s top-rated unscripted TV show on cable.

New York, NY – June 1, 2017 – MTV’s “Fear Factor” hosted by Ludacris delivered the network’s highest rated series premiere in two years (P18-34) with the successful refresh of the break-through show. Up a whopping +164% vs. time period average, “Fear Factor” delivered a .83 (P18-34) rating and nearly one million total viewers. It was also Tuesday’s #1 unscripted show on cable (P18-34) and helped deliver MTV’s best Tuesday in a year and a half.
Additionally, “The Challenge: Champs vs. Pros” reached a season high with a .61, up +13% (P18-34).
Every Tuesday at 10PM ET/PT, MTV gives viewers the chance to conquer their fears head on. Ludacris hosts the new installment, custom-created for a generation that is increasingly empowered, while also more anxious than ever. Filled with new stunts inspired by urban legends, popular scary movies and viral videos from today’s cultural zeitgeist, “Fear Factor” contestants confront their fears, push beyond their comfort zones and take action against some of their biggest stressors.

I watched it and in my opinion you have a looser on your hands Hosted by Ludacris that is so off the wall get someone qualified and it MIGHT be a good show like when it was on Hosted by Joe Rogan but it went down hill when the first one ate it and the second one a farm man said I have eaten a lot of things in my life but I refuse to eat rotten meat with maggots in it and tossed it on the floor as did the third man and thus the first man that ate… Read more »
