Last year, Fear the Walking Dead was AMC’s second highest-rated scripted series (behind The Walking Dead). The zombie drama did very well for the cable channel but the numbers dropped quite a bit over the short season. Will the ratings keep falling or will they rise? Cancelled or renewed for season three? Stay tuned.
Fear the Walking Dead, explores the onset of the undead apocalypse through the lens of a fractured family. Set in a city where people come to escape, shield secrets, and bury their pasts, a mysterious outbreak threatens to disrupt what little stability high school guidance counselor Madison Clark (Kim Dickens) and English teacher Travis Manawa (Cliff Curtis) have managed to find. The rest of the cast includes Frank Dillane, Alycia Debnam-Carey, Lorenzo James Henrie, Rubén Blades, Mercedes Mason, and Colman Domingo.
The ratings are typically the best indication of a show’s chances of staying on the air. The higher the ratings, the better the chances for survival. This chart will be updated as new ratings data becomes available.
4/15 update: AMC has renewed Fear the Walking Dead for a third season. Details here.

What do you think? Do you still like the Fear the Walking Dead TV series? Do you think it should be cancelled or renewed for a third season?
FTWD started strong and was exciting getting to see the start of the outbreak that wasn’t shown on TWD since Rick was in the coma. FWD to season 2 and a girl plays Facebook on a radio and the series went on a borning turn every since. Stopped watching half way through season 2 and was really surprised it got picked up again for another season. Find it hilarious they have an aftershow like the Talking Dead. What could they possibly talk about for an hour other than hoping TWD doesn’t get as bad as this?
I know, I was thinking the exact same!! GOT has it’s own talk show, fair enough, it’s earned it. TWD has it’s own talk show, also feasible. But Fear is what I like to call a ‘parasite’ show. In other words it steals/borrows fans from other shows during slow seasons to try and generate an audience for it because as a stand alone it is incapable. They even tried to rob the fans off the GOT series during Fear’s first season by the producers literally begging them to watch Fear even though it was on at the same time. That… Read more »
I had high hopes for this series since I sort of feel that I ruined the thrill of TWD after reading all the comics. I must admit I enjoyed the original series far more before I pretty much knew what to expect. But AMC really phoned it in on this one. I can’t stand to even sit through a whole episode let alone the stupid Talking Dead that follows. I have to agree with the general consensus; unexciting characters, bland plot, poor acting. The tragedy is that the premise of the series, had it been done right, could have been… Read more »
I just want to say thanks for your honesty Jack, I totally agree. Even in the last couple of ‘exciting’ episodes I feel like it has gone too far to be salvaged although I would rather see the slate wiped clean than continue as it is. The main reason that I hope it gets cancelled now though is because it’s causing divisions between people and bringing out the worst in a lot of the fans. On other forums, I have seen what I would class as actual bullying going on conducted by some Fear fans who are verbally lashing others… Read more »
Best cure for insomnia I have ever watched. Originality obviously isn’t AMC’s forte’. I have seen some stupid concepts but this prequel and eventual overlap of a successful show takes first prize. It could actually ruin TWD if it continues. This is a typical example of greed and over-indulgence in a franchise. Its worse than ‘Son Of King Kong’. ADC’s eye-candy bored teen role is getting tedious. With the exception of Lexa in T100 where she managed at least to break a sweat and raise some eyebrows its not working here and trying to make her into a FTWD ‘Lexa’… Read more »
Sometimes I feel like I am alone in my opinion of that, that even though it is getting ‘exciting’ because Alicia Clark is taking the lead, it is not as good as the way she was as Lexa on the 100 and never will be. I said that on another forum and some dude called Jeremy slammed me, saying I was a hater (which i’m not) and that the 100 was a rubbish show anyway (which it’s not) and that I should be ‘happy’ that she is getting more like Lexa in this anyway (which she DEFINITELY is not!). So… Read more »
Brin Barbosa, where have you been? Why did you leave Twitter? What’s new with your stock tips, The 100 stalking and your wife “The Babe”?
FTWD talentless actors & actressess. Put this show out of it’s misery & CANCEL IT!!! Zombie movies are a dying fad!!
Cancel this stupid show, it’s mind numbing & only surviving by the influence of the Walking Dead
After the first season, I deemed it unwatchable. Slow, boring, annoying characters, and unrealistic. FTWD is terrible. This is what happens when you assume your viewers are morons. Let this show sink to the bottom of the ocean and let it die.
Zombie movies are becoming so boring & FTWD cast is talentless. The cast should showcase their talents in flipping burgers or go on a bottom rung reality show
Talentless FTWD cast
I wonder if there is a major cast shakeup in the offing?
The show has gone down with each episode. I wanted so bad to like the show but this season the characters got annoying and you really want them to get killed off unlike the walking dead where you don’t want your favorite to get killed off. The story line is just getting more and more silly where the viewer ends up not caring about anyone. Third season will
Probably
Be the last if something doesn’t change fast.
Season 1 was boring, but since there were only six episodes, I hoped that season 2 would get better. WRONG!!…. The characters are not interesting at all. After episode 3, I abandoned the Abigail and FTWD!
Lol what a train wreck 🙂
people are not supposed to root for the zombies and that’s what they’ve been doing since season 1 .
This is kind of reminding me of Hershel’s farm. It’s just stagnating in the water and made difficult with the fact that there’s no character to be sympathetic towards.
this show is not.!! getting better, wtf happen to the writers of this show.!! i thought this show was going to be better than the twd?? the ratings tell the story.!!
Sorry didn’t leave my full comment. It seems that in recent episodes the characters do things that make no sense… while one dope is taking a swim in the zombie ocean another is upset that the guy who owns the boat won’t stop and let random people on board. I do’nt know what to suggest, it’s just while the show is on I’m thinking about straightening a picture on the wall…
The show unfortunately just doesn’t have it, and I liked it a lot when it first came on.
slow start.!! to slow, your slow burn will kill this show.!! i was hoping it would be better than the walking dead.?? but i guess good writers are hard to come buy this days.!!?? but.!! their is hope.!!??
