TV show description:
This cop drama follows the LAPD’s multi-agency Gang Task Force as they take on the city’s most dangerous gangs.
Detective Ryan Lopez (Ramon Rodriguez) is a rising star in the force but he has a secret. He lost his father at an early age and was taken in and raised by the Acosta family. Before he became a cop, Ryan pledged his allegiance to a different band of brothers –- the powerful Latino gang called Los Angelicos.
When Ryan’s best friend and police partner is senselessly killed by a notorious gang member, Ryan teams up with Task Force member and DEA Agent Cassius Green (RZA). He’s been at the forefront of the city’s war on organized crime for a long time.
Despite his devotion to his job, Ryan is still beholden to the crime family’s leader, Javier Acosta (Cliff Curtis). He’s the father figure that Ryan has tried to make proud his entire life — and the man who masterminded his entry into the police force.
Ryan’s secret has been held for a decade by Ryan, Javier, and Javier’s sons; cold-blooded gang lieutenant Carlos (Rey Gallegos) and straight-laced investment banker Daniel (Jay Hernandez), Ryan’s childhood best friend.
But Ryan is starting to realize that he is even more dedicated to being a cop than he is to Los Angelicos. He is respected by his team, including FBI Agent Tae Kim (Sung Kang), ICE Agent Vanessa “Vee” Hicks (Inbar Lavi) and the task force leader, Sam Chapel (Terry O’Quinn).
Chapel is Ryan’s other surrogate father figure. His estranged daughter, Jessica (Shantel VanSanten), is the city’s Assistant District Attorney.
Episode #13 — Malandros
Daniel uses his wedding to finalize a deal between Javier and Lavar Quintel. Chapel leads his team into Mexico to find murder suspect Matias. Chapen and Ryan learn that Javier ordered the hit on Jessica. Ryan has Javier transferred to the metas side of jail where he finds a “welcome party.”
First aired: August 14, 2014.

I am hooked, this show is great
Seriously.. I am hooked! I love this show! I really hope that Gang Related continues as it’s a relief from all of the other CSI and reality shows. Can’t wait for the season finale
I didn’t watch at first, but now it’s my favorite show. I hope it’s renewed. I can’t watch anymore senseless reality shows. They have very good actors on this show, especially the lead actor Ramon Rodriguez.
Started watching this summer on Hulu. Really like the plot but a little less violence would be okay. Still it didn’t keep me from watching.
Love the show I hope it is renewed!
Keep gang related on TV. This is an awesome series and is better than criminal minds. I’ve watched every CM episode but gang related I just can’t wait for the next one every single week,!
great show. look forward to the show each week
OK, I didn’t plan this, but I’m addicted! Great cast, intriguing storyline…a welcome relief from all the stupid reality shows and sitcoms that clog up our airwaves. Don’t know how you will be able to continue to draw out the suspense, but I sure don’t want it to end!
