As has become the norm, ABC didn’t announce if General Hospital had been renewed for another year but the show wasn’t cancelled either. They just kept it on the air. Will General Hospital survive to see a 58th season for the 2020-21 broadcast season? How will it do in the ratings? Stay tuned.
Debuting on April 1st of 1963, General Hospital revolves around the loves, lives, and deaths of the people of Port Charles, New York. The current season’s cast includes Maurice Benard, Tamara Braun, Steve Burton, William deVry, Chad Duell, Michael Easton, Genie Francis, Max Gail, Nancy Lee Grahn, Briana Nicole Henry, Rebecca Herbst, Roger Howarth, Finola Hughes, William Lipton, Katelyn MacMullen, Sofia Mattsson, Eden McCoy, Kelly Monaco, Wes Ramsey, Emme Rylan, Kirsten Storms, Josh Swickard, Donnell Turner, Maura West, and Laura Wright.

Note: ABC ran out of original episodes with week 35 due to the COVID-19 production shutdown. New episodes resumed with week 46.
For comparisons: The 2018-19 season of General Hospital averaged a 0.53 rating in the 18-49 female demographic with 2.30 million total viewers.

I would, very much, like to see General Hospital renewed. I also wish ABC would start showing reruns from the 1980’s and just show them straight through and stop jumping around with one show from this year then another show from a different year. I would love to watch the old story lines.

Please keep General Hospital. Been watching it since in high school in the 70s. I would like the storylines to come to a conclusion quicker and spread some more positive relationships which depict folks being happy rather than sad all the time. But I love the show and will continue to watch.

I think that GH could have used the time slot for a much more positive agenda…even the fact it dealt with hospital topics could they not have stepped u and been an education for the everyday events virus included. It was in a great position to re-enforce what the public could and should be doing….We are living a soap opera today. I vote you stop the repeat shows as it just makes me realize what a fool I’ve been these many years of following the stupid shallow story lines….especially when you mix up the order of events…like killing off Dante… Read more »
Please keep General Hospital on, I have watched it since day 1 & still love it. The characters are awesome & the actors are perfect. It would be a great disappointment If it was cancelled. Please renew!!!

Please keep GH on! I have watched since I was a young teen and let’s just say I am not so young anymore! I DVR the show everyday and my husband even catches up with me periodically!
