TV show description:
This sitcom take place in the corporate banking world of San Francisco. It revolves around Brody Moyer (Skylar Astin), an Ivy League-educated perfectionist who’s smart and driven. He’s fiercely competitive at everything he does and is being groomed to follow in the footsteps of his boss.
That plan comes into question when Brody has a one-night stand with Jennifer Miller (Briga Heelan), a beautiful woman he met at an office party. It turns out that she works in the maintenance department for the building where his bank is located. He starts to wonder if climbing the corporate ladder truly that important?
Facing Brody’s annoyed colleagues and critical boss Mister Mansfield, the pair must find a way to deal with their growing feelings for each other.
Jenny is the boss of the ground floor building support team, She’s fun, beautiful, painfully honest — and the first person in her family to get a job that comes with dental insurance. She works to live, not the other way around. Though she doesn’t understand the appeal of the 100-hour work week and the dog-eat-dog world upstairs, she is a big fan of Brody.
Remington Stewart Mansfield (John C. McGinley) is a self-made man (from a long line of self-made men) and is the head of Remington Trust. A fitness nut and alpha male, he expects a lot from his team, but even more for himself. A devoted family man who is surrounded by women at home, Mansfield has always wanted a son — a role he wants Brody to fill.
Smart, competitive and seemingly shallow, Mike “Threepeat” Wen (Rene Gube) grew up with strict parents who left him feeling like he’ll never be good enough. He does things like spend all his money on matching jet skis and he hits on every woman he sees, but it’s just so he’ll get some attention. Threepeat would love to be Mansfield’s favorite but settles for being Brody’s insanely loyal best friend.
Mark “Harvard” Shrake (Rory Scovel) is a one-man knot of insecurity and a know-it-all. He earned his nickname because he’s the only one on the ground floor who went to college — community college. He’s now the building’s IT guy and likes to think that gives him power over the upstairs guys (it doesn’t). He’s always disliked the people who work upstairs, but he now has an extra reason to hate Brody. He’s dating the girl that Harvard has always loved.
Fun and uninhibited, Tori (Alexis Knapp) comes with two gears — sleep (which she often does at work) and very much awake. She’s done more living in the past 10 years than most people do in 40. Even though she has given up dating, she loves to hit the town with her ever-growing gay posse. Their escapades have turned Tori into a minor social media celebrity.
Derrick Dupree (James Earl) is in charge of office supplies. He’s tough on the outside but is truly a big-hearted, good-natured teddy bear. He loves his friends, loves being a part-time DJ and loves his job. Derrick looks after his nephew whenever he can help his sister out. He’s also fiercely protective of Jenny, Tori and even Harvard. He actually has a bit of a puppy-dog crush on Tori.
Episode #20 — The Proposal, Part 2
Having found an engagement ring in Brody’s bag (Mansfield’s daughter’s), Jenny assumes that he’s going to propose. Mansfield takes an instant dislike to his soon-to-be son-in-law. After winning hundreds of thousands at craps, Lindsay and Harvard go on the spree to end all sprees.
First aired: February 10, 2015.
What do you think? Do you like the Ground Floor TV series? Do you think it should have been cancelled or renewed for a third season?
I think this season has been pretty good. I actually wish there were more than 10 episodes. I think it is pretty hard to develop the chemistry in so few episodes.
This show sucks. Absolutely awful. Are some of you ground floor lovers also fans of Sullivan and son ? That would make perfect sense.
Thank you!! Perfectly said!
Just started watching this show. It’s not a bad show–similar to Cristela.
I think the lead actor finding a reason to sing every other episode is lame though….we get it…you can sing…
Zooey Deschanel used to sing on many episodes in the first couple seasons of The New Girl but thankfully stopped.
This show sucks. Especially the ads like “you know that really good looking guy who sings so well?” Did the lead write this about himself? All these people that love it, are studio hacks and relatives of the losers in the show.
This show is great. New comedy. Don’t cancel
I think it’s a funny, very cleverly written show and very today. Also excellent actors doing their thing so well! One of the best sit-coms of the season.
Pleasee can you tell me when the new season will began? Im so happy for the renew and i just cant wait for the new season!
Some time this winter. No date yet.
I LOVE Ground Floor. Please do not cancel. Can’t wait to start watching new episodes!!
Renew renew renew my husband I love it! Hope it comes on again soon
Without a doubt the funniest show on any channel period. I however wonder why the programmer at the stations would put this show up against the ABC juggernaut @ 10 pm called “Scandal.” Ground Floor deserves at least one more season in a much better time slot. There are plenty of comedies that should of been cancelled in their first season. Ground Floor isn’t one of them. If the programmer needs scheduling help. Please contact me.
By all means, cancel Ground Floor! You seem to think you can survive off Big Bang Theory re-runs, so why not cancel a show your viewers love. On the other hand, you air it an hour earlier on the west coast, and watch the numbers skyrocket!
I hope the broadcasting executives read my entire post! In NO WAY did I mean Ground Floor should be cancelled. Its witty, clever, very funny, and entertaining. Its absolutely better than 20 year old re-runs of King of Queens, Seinfeld, that idiot wannabe Conan, the disgusting Family Guy (which we would never watch), 20 year old re-runs of Friends, and the list goes on. Big Bang Theory and Ground Floor were all you had going worth watching, and now even Big Bang Theory re-runs are getting old. Ground Floor was a refreshing and tasteful change of pace. Do you folks… Read more »
I love the show. It is out loud laughing funny. The episode about
Jenny’s birthday and the comment about how her “hole” was the best birthday present ever made me laugh my ass off. PLEASE don’t cancel this show.
Please don’t cancel Ground Floor. My husband and I love this show too! You just can’t let it end the way that season 1 ended. I love this show.
Please don’t cancel ground floor. My husband and I love this show! We are more excited to watch this show than the new big bang theorys. We laugh historically and slap each other’s legs constantly rewinding to laugh some more!
This show should diffidently be renewed. It is hilarious and I enjoyed every episode
