What’s This TV Show About?

Streaming on the Netflix paid subscription platform, The Indian Detective stars Russell Peters, Mishqah Parthiephal, Christina Cole, Scott Cavalheiro, Anupam Kher, Hazma Haq, and William Shatner. The mystery comedy-drama centers on Constable Doug D’Mello (Peters), a Toronto police officer who can’t get out of his own way, in his quest to make detective. When a big case fizzles out, Doug visits his father Stanley (Kher) in Mumbai. There, he gets caught up in a murder investigation which leads him straight into the sights of a lethal criminal — one with ties back to Toronto.

Telly’s Take

Because this TV show airs on CTV in Canada, and streams on Netflix in the US, I can’t use the Nielsen ratings to predict whether they’ll cancel or renew The Indian Detective for season two. In addition, this is one of those shows that could end up as a mini-series. While I’m always up for Indian food, I don’t have a strong feeling either way about a second-season pickup. We enjoyed the Indian Detective and would appreciate its renewal. It has a good story plot. We don’t enjoy the many shows that offensive.

This is one show my husband and I enjoy together. Hopefully this show will be renewed! Very well acted, love the humor, personal touches and storylines. Need more Canadian shows like this!

Wow, just discovered the Indian detective and I love it. Hoping for season 2 soon! Great show. Count me as a fan of the show. 1st season very very captivating. I was hoping for more episodes as well.

hi there we really enjoyed the show it was funny it was refreshing to watch a show that had no swearing it was overall a good show i do hope they bring out a season 2 and seeing william shatner is always nice

Really enjoyed the show. It’s fun, interesting and basically enjoyable to watch.
The guy is funny, self deprecating and confident which makes him compelling to watch in this role.
Please, please bring it back.
