TV show description:
Based on the James Patterson novel, Murder Games, the Instinct TV show is a crime thriller from creator Michael Rauch. The drama centers on Dr. Dylan Reinhart (Cumming), a former CIA operative who is enjoying a peaceful interlude as a university professor and author, when his old life beckons for him to return.
Reinhart is teaching psychopathic behavior when NYPD Detective Lizzie Needham (Novakovic) seeks his help in catching a serial killer. It seems the murderer is using the professor’s first book as his training manual.
Although Dylan has grown accustomed to his student’s enthusiasm and adoration, Detective Needham isn’t one to take “No,” for an answer. He agrees to leave his comfortable retirement behind, in order to work this compelling case.
Dylan’s old CIA colleague, Julian Cousins (Andrews), is every bit as bright as the professor and excels at getting the goods on anyone he targets. Meanwhile, Lt. Jasmine Gooden (Leal) is happy to see her sharpest detective accept help on any case. Lizzie has refused to partner with anyone, since a tragedy occurred, a year ago.
Although working the case gives Dylan a new sense of purpose and vitality, his husband, Andy (Ings), worries his spouse has forsaken their agreement to permanently leave his past in the past. While things are bumpy between Dylan and Lizzie at the outset, they soon learn that together, they make one heck of a team.

Episode #24 — Grey Matter
A gruesome discovery in a city pond leads Dylan and Lizzie to investigate a young man’s murder, while Andy rescues one of Dylan’s students from a legal bind.

I am ill. I love Instinct and wish another network would pick it up. It is clever, interesting and intelligent. I look forward to very few tv shows with the plethora of game shows hosted by “well known” personalities and reality shows. I pray for a miracle.
Please bring it back. Very dusappointed this show was cancelled.

Very disappointing that CBS is cancelling one of the best shows they have had in a long time! Remember that Mash took some time to find it’s (very loyal) niche. How did that turn out?
This is such a great show. I’m sorry to see it cancelled after only two seasons.

Just one more reasom I’m canceling my CBS All Access and turning off CBS. you’ve destroyed CBS. First with Morning News and Evening News now your regular programing.

Dumb move to cancel
why would the network cancel this very entertaining show and leave us with brain rot like Big Brother etc?
Sad to see Instinct cancelled. I really look forward to it as a summer replacement . I feel it didn’t have a very good chance because of the Sunday evening time slot. Would have been much better received in a weekday time slot and leave the “Kiss of Death” Sunday to reruns of the fall shows.
Love this TV show Instinct. Bring it back.
We are very disappointed that CBS is not renewing Instinct for a 3rd season. We thoroughly enjoyed.
One of the best shows on the air. It’s intelligent with great characters. It was put on after an airhead show which severely reduced the number of people watching it. You definitely wouldn’t go from the previous show into watching instinct. Bad lead in Show made this a disaster waiting to happen. I Faithfully watch the show and even I missed it on occasion because I wasn’t even thinking of CBS because of the proceeding show. Very annoying that’s CBS is going down the garbage path with their shows.
