TV show description:
Based on the James Patterson novel, Murder Games, the Instinct TV show is a crime thriller from creator Michael Rauch. The drama centers on Dr. Dylan Reinhart (Cumming), a former CIA operative who is enjoying a peaceful interlude as a university professor and author, when his old life beckons for him to return.
Reinhart is teaching psychopathic behavior when NYPD Detective Lizzie Needham (Novakovic) seeks his help in catching a serial killer. It seems the murderer is using the professor’s first book as his training manual.
Although Dylan has grown accustomed to his student’s enthusiasm and adoration, Detective Needham isn’t one to take “No,” for an answer. He agrees to leave his comfortable retirement behind, in order to work this compelling case.
Dylan’s old CIA colleague, Julian Cousins (Andrews), is every bit as bright as the professor and excels at getting the goods on anyone he targets. Meanwhile, Lt. Jasmine Gooden (Leal) is happy to see her sharpest detective accept help on any case. Lizzie has refused to partner with anyone, since a tragedy occurred, a year ago.
Although working the case gives Dylan a new sense of purpose and vitality, his husband, Andy (Ings), worries his spouse has forsaken their agreement to permanently leave his past in the past. While things are bumpy between Dylan and Lizzie at the outset, they soon learn that together, they make one heck of a team.
Series Finale:
Episode #24 — Grey Matter
A gruesome discovery in a city pond leads Dylan and Lizzie to investigate a young man’s murder, while Andy rescues one of Dylan’s students from a legal bind.
First aired: August 25, 2019.
What do you think? Do you like the Instinct TV series? Should this CBS TV show have been cancelled or renewed for a third season?
My husband and I LOVE this show…it’s smart and classy, especially with the character Dylan, Julian isn’t too bad, either. So many shows are just trash and yet the networks cancel this one. No words.
I was very sorry to hear this show was cancelled!! We really enjoyed it and hope they reconsider and bring it back. It was great having something new to watch in the summer months – all those channels and nothing to watch. Please reconsider – we DON’T NEED more REALITY TV GARBAGE!!
I am very upset that my favourite tv show is being cancelled!! The season finale also left you hanging! It should have been renewed for more seasons.
Definitely should be renewed.
This is one of the best crime dramas and you are throwing it away. How could you end it with so much left hanging.
This is why network TV is failing.
You show so much garbage and you can not keep an intelligent show??? I rarely watch network TV for this very reason!!!!!!!!
I enjoyed this show! They are cancelling too many mystery shows. I hope they bring it back
Should definitely have been renewed, very entertaining.
I can’t believe Instinct has been cancelled….the show was wonderful, different and the cast was awesome! PLEASE bring it back!!!!
I loved Elementary, but I had resigned to moving my loyalty to Instinct. It is one of the few tv shows left that requires some intellect. I’m going to miss it CBS…
Should have been RENEWED!
We loved this show, great cast, intriguing and intense. Hate seeing it axed
fabulous show – genius writing and casting -better than most shows CBS carries – very upset to see it has been canceled!
Definitely should’ve been renewed. I want to see the baby come into their lives. Interesting characters and interactions. Can it be picked up elsewhere?
I just found out that Instinct has been cancelled. I’m so sad. I LOVE this show. The characters are wonderful together and the story line is always great. PLEASE reconsider renewing this show!
I will miss this show. I watched every week. Please bring back.
We really looked forward to this intelligent show. The characters are interesting and well developed. The relationships make the show fun to watch. CBS should reconsider there decision. Come on you have Alan Cumminngs
