TV show description:
Based on the James Patterson novel, Murder Games, the Instinct TV show is a crime thriller from creator Michael Rauch. The drama centers on Dr. Dylan Reinhart (Cumming), a former CIA operative who is enjoying a peaceful interlude as a university professor and author, when his old life beckons for him to return.
Reinhart is teaching psychopathic behavior when NYPD Detective Lizzie Needham (Novakovic) seeks his help in catching a serial killer. It seems the murderer is using the professor’s first book as his training manual.
Although Dylan has grown accustomed to his student’s enthusiasm and adoration, Detective Needham isn’t one to take “No,” for an answer. He agrees to leave his comfortable retirement behind, in order to work this compelling case.
Dylan’s old CIA colleague, Julian Cousins (Andrews), is every bit as bright as the professor and excels at getting the goods on anyone he targets. Meanwhile, Lt. Jasmine Gooden (Leal) is happy to see her sharpest detective accept help on any case. Lizzie has refused to partner with anyone, since a tragedy occurred, a year ago.
Although working the case gives Dylan a new sense of purpose and vitality, his husband, Andy (Ings), worries his spouse has forsaken their agreement to permanently leave his past in the past. While things are bumpy between Dylan and Lizzie at the outset, they soon learn that together, they make one heck of a team.

A gruesome discovery in a city pond leads Dylan and Lizzie to investigate a young man’s murder, while Andy rescues one of Dylan’s students from a legal bind.

CBS seems to be run by brain dead morons who only cancel show that are interesting and keep the shows that make me change the channel . THE SHOW INSTINCT SHOULD BE RENEWED, FOR CRYING OUT LOUD IT WAS IN THE TOP 25 MOST WATCHED SHOWS . HELLO CBS GET A CLUE OF WHAT WE THE PUBLIC WANT TO WATCH!!!
TERRIBLE DECISION Why are all the interesting, thoughtful, well written and acted shows cancelled so that all we’re left with is crap? So disappointing. This was a really great show that should have been renewed

Love that show, Instinct was a different, enjoyable mystery. Wrong to cancel by CBS. I mean for a summer replacement, what could be better?

So many boring shows and the good one gets the hook. And right in the middle of a plot line! Don’t believe it.
I feel the same way as last comment left, I am tired of fake reality shows, This was my favorite summer show so unique so different what are networks doing?? CBS is the worst it seems to cancel anything that makes sense. Wish they would listen to viewers and bring this back or another station pick it up.
Whenever there is a show that is very different and holds my attention it seems like the networks for some reason has the gall to cancel this kind of series. I don’t know why all those stupid so called comedy, killing, and stupid shows like agt, bachelor , etc are still on the air. IT’S TIME CBS NEEDS TO WAKE UP and give us something that is different then what I mentioned.

Instinct should not have been cancelled. The network never gave it a chance. Guess it was too smart for the execs.

Not happy about this series being cancelled. It has great actors, writing, plotlines – everything. So much drivel on the air these days; it’s really sad to see a class act cancelled.
As always the networks cancel interesting and unique show with no end,
in this case the multiple story lines of this series are left hanging.
I for one will miss it.
