The Walking Dead has become an incredibly successful TV show on cable television. Now, The CW is trying their own zombie genre series. Will it be a ratings success as well? Cancelled or renewed for a second season? Stay tuned.
Loosely based on a comic book series, iZombie revolves around an over-achieving medical resident (Rose McIver) who ends up as a zombie. She’s able to keep her new condition a secret from her loved ones and, thanks to knowledge gained from dining on cadaver brains, is also able to help the police solve murders. The rest of the cast includes Malcolm Goodwin, Rahul Kohli, Robert Buckley, and David Anders.
The ratings are typically the best indication of a show’s likelihood of staying on the air. The higher the ratings (particularly the 18-49 demo), the better the chances for survival. This chart will be updated as new ratings data becomes available — typically the following morning, around 11:30am EST/8:30am PST. Refresh to see the latest.
5/6 update: The CW has renewed iZombie for a second season. Details here.
Final season averages: 0.65 rating in the 18-49 demographic with 1.76 million total viewers.
Note: If you’re not seeing the updated chart, please try reloading the page or view it here.
These are the final national numbers (unless noted with an “*”). These are different from the fast affiliate numbers which are just estimates of the actual ratings. The final nationals are typically released within 24 hours of the programming or, in the case of weekends and holidays, a couple days later.
What do you think? Do you like the iZombie TV show? Do you think it should be cancelled or renewed for a second season?
I absolutely love this show. Havent found one I actually tune in weekly for in years! Please Please do not cancel this show. I cant wait to see whos memory shes going to take on each week!!
I really like this show. Unpredictable journey through an alternate, self-coherent universe, with likable but distinct characters. Weird funny compelling intelligent exploration of all the unknowns based on a set of starting premises. Endless discoveries. She takes on the personalities of different people, yet her intellectual observer self narrates. Her boss & the detective, so good. And now there is this dark undercurrent of one or more zombie sub-cultures.
Keep it coming please.
The truth be told, I Zombie is the only new show this year that I am following. I like the premise, the characters , the story lines and the actors. I really do not care where the stories and characters came from. Let the lawyers sort out that stuff.
Most other new scripted shows are either too dumb or to gruesomely violent for me to enjoy. As for ‘Reality’ shows, none of them are real, all of them are secretly (or not secretly) scripted and aimed at people who really need to get a life.
This show is great!! I don’t know who this leading actress is but I really like her. This show has become the one I look forward to, although I haven’t figured out why. Anyway I love this show!!
For those of you who said that this is a rip off of that novel called white trash zombies, do your research first. This show is based of a comic with the same name by DC comics, which anyway first published in 2010. The white trash zombies was published in 2011. So if there’s anyone copying anything, it’s most likely the novel. But well, the one who commented about that are probably the same person, soo..
Do your own research, the NAME and comic book predates Diana Rowland’s books, the plots and characters personality are almost a direct ripoff (the eating and obtaining memories being about the only totally original exception). I review books and I don’t throw out this stuff randomly (as you obviously do) and I can tell you this is indeed a ripoff (or there would be no ongoing lawsuit). When you have published over 800 reviews on paranormal books that you have read, come back and try again. I know these characters in depth and recognized them as Diana Rowland’s characters immediately.… Read more »
Books with images are just as fun as normal book.
Incredible that even in this era some people still bashing comicbooks. As they were kids stuff.
I mean, paranormal books are for kids too!
Total rip off of the white trash zombie… I was constantly surprised when they did not call her Angel… because she is SO like Angel from Diana Rowland’s books… not just her, the story too… jeez.
Just like anything else you just have to give it a try. I just watched 1 and two and have to say I would like to see more. I don’t think this show should be cancelled, first time I have found something that I like to watch.
Very enjoyable show.
Passing on iZombies. Tried to watch realized total rip off of White Trash Zombies.
I just watched this show to see how good it would be since I am a huge TWD fan. Well I was really surprised that it was so much better than I thought it would be!!!! It has a good premise to it and it works really well. I like it so far and I hope that the network doesn’t screw up and cancel it early. This is probably one of the best new shows of the past year!!!!!!!!!
Show was awful … I don’t see why they’d bother to air another.
A really bad White Trash Zombie rip off.
This season is a little werid but it will get alot better
dougmeeks is absolutely right. Loosely based on iZombie, not so loosely ripping off White Trash Zombie series while not giving credit to Diana Rowland.
Total Ripoff of White Trash Zombies.
Agreed this is a total rip off of white trash zombie I will not watch it
Stacey I Zombies is amazing just try it
“Loosely based on a comic book series, iZombie” – actually they used the title and some character names but the series sounds/looks to have been stolen from Diana Rowland’s White Trash Zombie books.
