What’s This TV Show About?
An ABC sitcom, The Kids Are Alright stars Michael Cudlitz, Mary McCormack, Sam Straley, Caleb Foote, Sawyer Barth, Christopher Paul Richards, Jack Gore, Andy Walken, and Santino Barnard. The 1970s-period comedy centers on the Clearys, an Irish-Catholic family living on the outskirts of Los Angeles. Since its the ’70s, Peggy (McCormack) and Mike (Cudlitz) are raising their kids with a lack of supervision which might stun today’s parents, and now their eldest son wants to quit the seminary to go “save the world.” The times they are a-changing, and the Cleary family is not immune to the turbulence around them.

Please don’t cancel this great show. I am the 7th of 9 kids that grew up in the 70’s and I looked forward to watching the show with my roommate. My roommate who grew up at the same time is from a family of eight. New parents should take note that growing up in the 70’s ment we all sat at the table for dinner and had conversations with each other. The things we did as kids like the McClary’s have created fond memories for my family at family get-togethers. I love thi show!!

We are so disappointed with ABC for cancelling The Kids Are Alright. Each actor played their part so we’ll, and we loved the premise of a big family living in the 70s. We wouldn’t miss a week and set our dvr to make sure we wouldn’t. Often we rewatched it later in the week because it was even more funny the 2nd time around. There are not many programs for a family to watch together where everyone is entertained, but this show nailed it. Thanks ABC for taking away something that was truly good.
One more thing…there are very few series that appeal to the children raised by the supposed “greatest generation” Even though I’m over 60 I watch TV oh and stay up past 10 pm.
I think there is so much good you could do with this show. You haven’t looked into it enough. It has so many nostalgic moments for me. Growing up with strict parents. One TV set for the whole family. No cell phones. Please reconsider…given some more thought you could come up with some great episodes. Thank you.
Please please please do not cancel the kids are alright! We love the show. Writing is wonderful and actors are so talented! Reminds my husband and I of a time that was innocent and lovely in so many ways.
I am really disappointed that The Kids Are Alright has been cancelled. My wife and I enjoyed every episode and looked forward to watching the show every week.
I want this show back!!!!! It is must watch TV (reminiscent of early Seinfeld)

It’s sad this is a great sit com I’m very upset you cancelled it just like all the good shows. I’m very disappointed
One of the best written new shows on TV…..I laugh all the way through it…….keep it moving. Remember, everyone hated Raymond, but we turned that around!
