Over the past few years, lots of Friday night sitcoms have been cancelled by ABC — shows like Cristela, The Neighbors, and Malibu Country — but Last Man Standing has survived. Will this Tim Allen sitcom hold up in the ratings and survive to see a sixth season? Stay tuned.
On Last Man Standing, Mike Baxter (Allen), marketing director of the Outdoor Man sporting goods stores, continues to stand his ground in a household of women. The rest of the cast includes Amanda Fuller, Christoph Sanders, Flynn Morrison, Hector Elizondo, Kaitlyn Dever, Molly Ephraim, and Nancy Travis.
The ratings are typically the best indication of a show’s likelihood of staying on the air. The higher the ratings (particularly the 18-49 demo), the better the chances for survival. This chart will be updated as new ratings data becomes available — usually the next day, around 11:30am EST/8:30am PST. Refresh to see the latest.
5/13 update: ABC has renewed this series for a sixth season. Details here.
Note: If you’re not seeing the updated chart, please try reloading the page or view it here.
For comparisons: The fourth season of Last Man Standing averaged a 1.27 rating in the 18-49 demographic with 6.85 million total viewers.
Note: Note: These are the Live + Same Day Ratings which include “live” viewing plus delayed DVR viewing, up until 3am local time that same night. Ratings marked with an “*” are the fast affiliate ratings and will be updated with the Live+SD numbers when they are made available. Typically, networks get paid for C+3 ratings which includes DVR viewing within three days of the original airing when commercials are watched. Those numbers are rarely released to the press.
What do you think? Do you still like the Last Man Standing TV show? Do you think it should be cancelled or be renewed for a sixth season? How long should it run?
My husband and I LOVE this show !!! I think it’s the BEST show on TV !! PLEASE don’t cancel it EVER !!!!! Absolutely EVERY character is funny on this show and it makes me laugh !!!
Great show, best of Friday night, keep it on!!!!!
If TV is supposed to be “entertaining” then this show more than delivers. Clever use of current topics and just plain funny when seeing familiar faces from his previous series brought in to new roles. Relatable to my own kids…my youngest son is SO like Eve. we watch reruns all time time!
I love it , makes me laugh. I’m tired of zombies and crime scene crap!
Excellent show. Tim Allen has been my TV dad since Santa Clause. I associate and familiarize my world through his cast of characters. Please keep the show on the air. And NO I do not work in the industry, or have a degree in psychology.
Love the show
Bring back LMS for season 6. best show on NBC Friday night lineup.
NBC? Don’t you mean ABC?
Love this show. cannot believe ABC would consider canceling it and leaving on a terrible show like Shark Tank. bring back season 6 of LMS!
I absolutely love this show! I’ve been a fan of Tim Allen since his stand up days in the 1980s. Keep it rolling!
I only saw two episodes, one which was the Lesbian pal episode and I can say I haven’t laughed and been as interested in a T.V. sitcom since maybe Frasier and Seinfeld. Great concept. A man who struggles between seeing women as sexual objects, equals and daughters. Also, touches on what it is to be a man (eg. male bonding through cut downs, young men who make the manly decision of having a child but aren’t man enough to take on the responsibility of being a father, etc.). Tim Allen did a great job of casting. His wife has some… Read more »
Love, Love this sitcom. I hope it runs a long time. The family dynamics, morals and story lines are wonderful. So relatable for all families. We watch it on several channels.
We loved Tim Allen from his Tool Time days as kids, and this is even better than his old show. How he asserts his identity while being the only man in a home filled with strong, opinionated, amazing girls and women is funny and endearing. So relatable to any family out there.
Our household watches very few sitcoms, but this show is hilarious without the crudeness that others deliver. It is a refreshing blend of humorous moral topics and issues. Great family show! Tim Allen is the best!!
Excellent show, super funny, entertaining……and I don’t watch many shows but this is a keeper.
Excellant family show. Not a lot of people know about it. So different from anything else on now. Look forward to Friday nights
