Streaming on the Amazon Prime Video paid subscription platform, The Last Post stars Ben Miles, Jeremy Neumark Jones, Stephen Campbell Moore, Jessie Buckley, Amanda Drew, Jessica Raine, Essie Davis, Tom Glynn-Carney, Louis Greatorex, Chris Reilly, Kevin Sutton, Paul Tinto, Toby Woolf, Ouidad Elma, Andrew Havill, Joseph Kennedy, Richard Dillane, and Aymen Hamdouchi.
The 1960s historical military drama centers on the officers of a Royal Military Police unit and their families, deployed in Aden, Yemen. Despite the ever present danger of hand grenades, mines, and sniper attacks, life goes on and so does love. And now, in the swinging ’60s, the siren song of sexual liberation is ringing in everyone’s ear. As the insurgency intensifies, these officers and their families must confront difficult questions. They begin to wonder why they are there, whether they should be, and if it is even okay to ask these things.

Unless they decide to release viewership figures, it is hard to predict whether Amazon will cancel or renew The Last Post for season two. On top of that, this is a BBC One TV series, so the BBC has to decide whether it wants to commission another series (i.e. season). I really enjoyed season one of the Last Post and I’m looking forward to season two.
Been watching with my husband The Last Post and we are addicted to it. Thank goodness it happened when we are forced to stay put in the house. My husband doesn’t like many programs as they don’t hold his attention too long. This series is different and very compelling. The actors are brilliant which makes a good script even better.Hope we get to see season 2/.
My hubby & I both loved “The Last Post”!! It really told a good story! Kept our interest going for the next episode… We couldn’t wait to see it!

Why would they cancel a great series like this and keep shows for mindless people I will never understand. This only makes me want to cancel my subscription more and more to Amazon Prime and having to wait over a year for new seasons is ridiculous. It’s like reading a book the first 6 chapters picking it up every 12 months to read 6 more or find out how it ends but the book is gone !!!!!
“The Last Post” was such a refreshing series without stereotypes, predictable dialogues or predictable plots. Though it was written in the 60s, the issues it raised were contemporary. The plot was riveting, the script beautiful, realistic prose, and the acting what you would expect from the BBC. PLEASE bring it back!

it was a super smart season finale — they had closure and remaining plot line questions all at once so it could rationalize a season 2 or complete closure. characters are superb.

I just started watching on Amazon Prime; please renew the series. The characters are so well played. I never knew this was happening in 1965; what with the Viet Nam war going on at the time. These brave British soldiers deserve to have their story told.
You may not know some other brave British and French soldiers and civilians were even more brutally attacked by people from the other side who were also fighting for their independence.
