Things aren’t going to be calming down for David Haller any time soon. FX has announced that they’ve renewed their Legion TV show for a third season. Season two is currently airing on Tuesday nights.
An FX sci-fi drama centering on the X-Men character, Legion stars Dan Stevens, Rachel Keller, Aubrey Plaza, Bill Irwin, David Negahban, Jemaine Clement, Jeremie Harris, Amber Midthunder, Hamish Linklater, and Jean Smart. The superhero thriller follows David Haller (Stevens). After being in and out of psychiatric hospitals for years, David met Syd (Keller), who helped him realize he wasn’t schizophrenic, but rather, in possession of incredible abilities. Upon exorcising the Shadow King from his body, David disappeared. Now his team must ally themselves with former nemesis Clark (Linklater) and Division III, his government organization. Meanwhile, the Shadow King, i.e. Amahl Farouk (Negahban) continues his quest for unlimited, apocalyptic power.
The second season of Legion is currently averaging a 0.20 rating in the 18-49 demographic and 439,000 viewers. Compared to season one, that’s down by 57% and 54%, respectively.
Despite the season-to-season drop in ratings, FX has renewed the show for season three. Those episodes are expected to air in 2019.
The renewal keeps a Marvel show on the FX schedule. A couple months ago, the cable channel cancelled plans for a Deadpool animated series.
“Legion has redefined the superhero drama and exceeded all expectations as the intensity and revelation build through the second season,” said FX president of original programming Eric Schrier. “We are incredibly proud of Noah Hawley’s achievement and are honored to continue the series as it pushes the boundaries of conventional television storytelling. We are also grateful for the contributions of our executive producers, John Cameron, Lauren Shuler Donner, Simon Kinberg, and Jeph Loeb with Marvel Television, as well as our outstanding cast and crew of this groundbreaking show.”

What do you think? Do you like the Legion TV show? Are you glad that it’s been renewed foor a third season?
This show has taken me through ALL the emotions! It has humor, drama, action, romance everything! This is a show that if by the end you don’t understand, you need to rewatch it (you might want to rewatch it anyway cause it’s so great!). I personally cannot get enough! Keep it running!
First season was very entertaining & ended on a gr8 cliffhanger, 2nd season still entertaining but some episodes slowed the flow of the season 2 the point where it almost become somewhat interesting but once again ended magnificently keeping me highly interested 4 the third season premiere…
Took a second viewing of season two to appreciate the ‘astral plane’ then it moved up to the top of my cant wait list. Miss it more than Game of Thrones and Doctor Who combined.
This show is unwatchable. Trying too hard to be creative and ruined it. I stopped 2 episode into the 2nd season not even going to waste my time on this ever again.
Not as good as Fargo, not even close. Kept hoping it would get better. I am disappoint.
Absolutely love this weird and whacky show. Keep ‘em coming – please! I love that once you think you know what will happen you end up being so wrong. I have come to love the characters – which for me makes a show great. I can relate to their inner turmoil, then the show takes turmoil to a whole new level. Never boring.
I love love this show! It’s weird only because mental health issues are impossible to understand. Who are the bad guys.. were they born that way .. or were they made? What if mental illness really is just a super power that the rest of us simply can’t comprehend ?!?
Gave up on this show halfway through this Season.
Got too weird, and not in a good way.
I absolutely loved season 1. This season has kinds been, meh, imo. I’ll still keep watching, to hope that season 3 gets back on track.
This is not happening one of the worst shows with bad ratings on FX, a bad show with its hallucinations story. FX should cancel this, anyway removed it from my watching list is very better to see it cancel next season. Just watched and bought first season on iTunes and dislike it.
I feel like I’m in one of David’s hallucinations with FX renewing this show. I think it’s because they want to keep a working relationship with Marvel.
Whatever the reason, I’m glad it’ll be back. The show is really smart. So many shows are there just to sell detergent. This show makes you think, about yourself, the world around you and your perceptions of everything. So many times, as the end credits are running, I’ve sat and wondered what it all really means. I don’t have the answer but I’m glad this show is around to make me ask myself that question.
