A&E has cancelled Longmire after three seasons. The cable channel issued a statement that said, “We would like to thank the phenomenal cast, crew and producers of Longmire, along with our partners at Warner Horizon, for their tireless work on three seasons of quality dramatic storytelling.”
Word is that Warner Horizon plans to shop the series to other outlets so a fourth season may still happen.
Longmire follows the life of a Wyoming county sheriff who’s returned to work following his wife’s demise. With the support of his family and co-workers, he solves cases and works to stay in office. The cast includes Robert Taylor, Katee Sackhoff, Bailey Chase, Adam Bartley, Cassidy Freeman, and Lou Diamond Phillips.
What do you think? Do you like Longmire? Do you think it should be cancelled or renewed for a fourth season instead?
My wife and I think this show is by far the best show bar none on any channel today, it beats all those silly reality shows to bits and even though there my be a little violence in it, it is still a show I would and do let my grandchildren watch. Television today has entirely to sex and innuendos about sex in them, and I am not a fuddy duddy by a long shot. The people that make these decisions should stop and look at their audience make-up and see that the one that watch these show are the… Read more »
We love Longmire…!!! Please find another channel that will showcase the fourth season… That’s our favorite show on tv… What will we do without him…
Longmire is the best show out there!!!
I am NOT in one of those “coveted” age groups touted all over by the “powers that be”; however it’s long past time that all of these “smart, know it alls” who head networks wise up! You finally have a show that’s worth watching and what do you do? Cancel it. Wow! And I thought elected officials were dumb.
Longmire Filming Co. My sister & I are both devoted fans of the Longmire TV show and we are greatly upset by the cancellation. There are MANY shows on TV I could mention that don’t hold a candle to this show. The stories are great and the stars are wonderful. HOW CAN ANY STUDIO EXECUTIVE BE THAT STUPID? We have so many IDIOT “Housewife…” s dows with everyone screaming and slapping it makes us sick. There are MANY shows that haven’t been cancelled that the “over 60” people enjoy also. Are they going to cancel those also for more shows… Read more »
figures, i have just about given up on TV. Longmire was the only Western on TV and is great TV. so now we get another show aimed at teenagers. Funny, the show had great numbers, but people were too old. i always wonder who pays the bills for the kids the shows are designed to impress. aren’t grandparents the indulgent ones? once upon a time a strong fan base would make a show, now its only forcing us to head to the net. I will not watch another series on A & E for fear of cancellation.
Longmire was a great series. It was great to have something to look forward to in TV programs. To bad for A&E. Whoever is in charge-at A&E have poor taste and ideas in what people want to see–They use to have good programs –Too bad for A&E. Losers for sure!!!
Longmire was wonderful –I will still hope for good judgement and a 4th season or more.
I am glad to have purchased the 3 series DVD.
Thank you
Julie
We LOVE Longmire!!! So very sad it has been cancelled!
Totally bumps. This is the only show I watch live. All others can sit on DVR until I am ready. Really going to miss this show. A&E bad move! One less reason to watch your channel which equals zero!
This is a show that’s truly worth watching. It would be a shame to see it replaced by another silly reality show that is as far from reality as life gets. Real folks would like to have a few shows like they used to make. “Gunsmoke” as an example. There are those who still like good old fashion shows with a little bit of heart to them. Mindless reality are a dime a dozen these days, it is sad that ya’ll come up with a great concept that if given the chance would make a classic TV program. I know… Read more »
Every time I send a letter it comes back undeliverable.. It’s obvious to me that A&E doesn’t care…. This is what I get: aefeedback@aenetworks.com The recipient’s mailbox is full and can’t accept messages now. Please try resending this message later, or contact the recipient directly. This is what I wrote: To whom it may concern: We, the followers of this magnificent drama, are at wits end trying to understand the cancellation of such a well written, well acted and intelligent series. It is the reason most of us “older” viewers watch it. We even have formed clubs and gatherings to… Read more »
I unsubscribed from their newsletter and told them I did it because the cancelled Longmire.
If you are getting that sort of message then hopefully we’ve overwhelmed thier email system. Either that or they got tired of all the email they received and turned it off.
What is A&E thinking?? They’re not, that’s obvious. You cancel a show because the audience is too old? Do you realize that over 94 million+ people are at or nearing retirement age. You don’t think this is an audience you should appeal to? We baby boomers may be old, but we’re the ones spending most of the money! Poor decision on your part. Cancelling a TV show based on the book series, that is beloved as most westerns themselves is plain lunacy! No crude sex, violence or filth…that’s the real issue!!!
I don’t know what the execs at A&E are thinking, but to cancel the most watched show in their history is strictly an idiotic thing to do. Maybe you need some new decision makers A & E. Longmire was, and is, one of the best dramas to reach television in a long time. It is well written, started with great books; well acted with beautiful country as a back drop. What is wrong with you people, have you lost your freaking mind?
I really enjoyed this program. Please renew
I hope someone picks up the series too. This was one of the best programs on A&E.
