Based on the “Walt Longmire” mystery novels by Craig Johnson, Longmire has been a very successful TV series for A&E in the ratings. Will that trend continue? Will the show be cancelled or renewed for a fourth season? Stay tuned!
Longmire follows the life of a Wyoming county sheriff who’s returned to work following his wife’s demise. With the support of his family and co-workers, he solves cases and works to stay in office. The cast includes Robert Taylor, Katee Sackhoff, Bailey Chase, Adam Bartley, Cassidy Freeman, and Lou Diamond Phillips.
The ratings are typically the best indication of a show’s likelihood of staying on the air. The higher the ratings, the better the chances for survival. This chart will be updated as new ratings data becomes available.
8/28 update: Longmire has been cancelled by A&E after three seasons. However…
11/19 update: Netflix has picked up the series for a fourth season.
Final season averages: 0.6 rating in the 18-49 demographic with 3.52 million total viewers.

Note: These are the final national numbers and are typically released within 24 hours of the programming or, in the case of weekends and holidays, a couple days later.
What do you think? Do you like the Longmire TV series? Do you think it should be cancelled or be renewed for a fourth season?
Great show! Didn’t even know season 3 was on until this week
Absolutely renew. It is MUST SEE TV for me. The characters are awesome, as are the writers and actors that bring them to life, and all of the other people involved in making the show.
Please renew. My husband and I just love this show. It is the only show he has ever gotten excited about. We love the characters, the story line, and the actors.
Please, please renew this series I am so hooked! It is one of the best shows
Renew please.
Having watched this show from the beginning, it’s one I never try to miss. The characters have been worked out and we’re really starting to learn more and more about them individually. I’ve just watched season 3 finale with lots of twists and turns and now you’re telling me it may be cancelled before everything is cleared up?!?! How cruel can you be! And what about Walt & Vic? What’ brewing between them. Please don’t cancel this program but, if you must, clean up all of the lose ends! I just want to thank A&E for finally putting an adult… Read more »
Best show on TV… we need a 4th Season!!
I hope you do not cancel the series. I love this show.
Longmire is a well acted, well written, show. Why would you cancel it. Don’t do it. TV programming needs to include shows for intelligent adults.
Longmire should be renewed for another season.
My husband and I both enjoy Longmire. We would really enjoy a season 4. We are planning on buying the DVDs and introducing the show to his mother who we are sure will like it as well. We also like Branch’s character as well. It just needs a longer season.
Absolutely renew for season 4. Branch has emerged as an interesting character. Walt and all of the cast are so good. I watch and rewatch episodes. Please renew.
Longmire is an outstanding show and should be renewed for a 4th season and even more. The characters are realistic and believable. The show integrates Native American culture and history into the overall plot and provides the audience with an excellent opportunity to gain an understanding. The show and cast are well worth watching and I truly hope the show is renewed. Robert Taylor does an outstanding performance of his character as well as the entire cast. Please renew the show, I just finished watching Season 3 final episode and I am looking forward to seeing the follow-up episode in… Read more »
