Looks like Lucifer Morningstar isn’t quite a lucky devil any longer. His show’s ratings have fallen year after year and so, FOX has cancelled its Lucifer TV show. Sadly, fans of the supernatural crime drama won’t be seeing a fourth season this fall.
A FOX comedy-drama, Lucifer stars Tom Ellis, Lauren German, DB Woodside, Lesley-Ann Brandt, Kevin Alejandro, Rachael Harris, Aimee Garcia, Tricia Helfer, Scarlett Estevez, and Tom Welling. The supernatural procedural centers on Lucifer Morningstar (Ellis) who abandoned his throne, retired to Los Angeles, opened up a nightclub, and started helping LAPD Detective Chloe Decker (German) crack cases.
Lucifer: A Look at the Ratings
The third season of Lucifer is averaging a 0.83 rating in the 18-49 demographic and 3.30 million viewers. Compared to season two, that’s down by 20% and down by 10%, respectively. While those declines aren’t huge, the series has seen dips in its ratings each season and the series could easily have been cancelled before. Apparently, the ratings dipped just a bit too low.
Out of the scripted FOX TV shows we’re tracking, Lucifer ranks 13th in terms of its demo performance and rises to 10th place in terms of average total audience size.
Lucifer showrunner Joe Henderson broke the bad news this afternoon.
So… yeah. #Lucifer has been cancelled. And it fucking HURTS. I loved this show so damn much and everyone put their heart and soul into it. Heartbreaking doesn't begin to describe.

The defacto series finale airs Monday, May 14th.

Boo! I love Lucifer. I think they have great stories and the characters are great and well played. It’s good against evil and it shows that no matter how bad you are or the things you’ve done it’s never to late to turn your life around and do the right thing and become a better being. Fox sucks!!!! Best show ever! Perhaps if they were smart enough to promote it more/better it would be number one in ratings. Stupid!!! It appeals to a huge demographic. BRING IT BACK.
Best show ever even if third season was a bit weird some moments. But still I live in Sweden my view don’t count on ratings:) If the show would be directly on available Netflix I would have way bigger ratings.
We live in times when we do t have time to watch tv so why somebody bother about ratings from it. I know selling commercial that’s what counts:( hope somebody smarter than fox vill continue series.
My family all watch this show and love it. I can’t believe it is cancelled.
I love this show . Why cancell, when Fox continues some of the other really stupid show have been running for years. So disappointed in fox
This was my favourite programme and I am gutted that the viewers do not get a say in shows being cancelled, the very least that Fox should do is announce that the next series will be the last and make series four I hope another network picks this brilliant show up and I will be inclined to not watch shows on this network anymore as I do not want to be disappointed again – much loved favourite.
Very disappointed, I always feel that people should have closure with shows that have been on many seasons, it is not fair to the viewer that watched every week and enjoyed it!
Love Lucifer. Good against evil. Loved it. I really wanted to see what with Chloe do now that she sees the devil face. Please bring it back!
Absolutely love the show Lucifer….was looking forward to see if chloe and lucifer would stay together after she seen his devil face….realizing that Lucifer was a man of his word and never lied to chloe……now theres nothing left to watch on tv worth watching

I think the show could have been helped by having the reveal at the end of season two instead, and then just worked with that. Going back on Lucifer’s decision to reveal himself, and then fall into a business-as-usual holding pattern, was a mistake IMHO.
This WAS one of the best shows on TV. I think FOX was looking at the wrong demographic. This show may have gone over their heads, I don’t know. Or maybe they were studying or going out. Those of us in my demographic that I know LOVED it. There’s nothing at all on FOX that I am interested in watching now. Nothing.
Lucifer is one of my all time favourite shows and I was waiting and waiting to see Chloe finally see the truth and got heaps excited when it happened, wondering what would happen next. Saw the bonus episodes, nothing there.. only to find out it got canceled! I’m devistated.
The best show ever, nothing else decent to watch, intelligent, unpredictable, ironical and still touching, why to remove? It still has a huge potential so many varieties for spectacular series. My family and colleagues really hope to see the sequel coming.
I feel its a great show i never understand when there is a great show when there is so much hard times in our world we just cant sit back and enjoy a great show please get it right
