TV show description:
This horror black comedy series is based on the characters created by Neil Gaiman, Sam Kieth, and Mike Dringenberg for DC Entertainment’s Vertigo imprint. It’s the story of the original fallen angel — Lucifer.
Bored and unhappy as the Lord of Hell, Lucifer Morningstar (Tom Ellis) has abandoned his throne and retired to Los Angeles. There, he owns an upscale nightclub named Lux. Charming, charismatic, and devilishly handsome, Lucifer is enjoying his retirement, indulging in a few of his favorite things — wine, women, and song.
His bliss is disturbed when a beautiful pop star is brutally murdered outside of his club. For the first time in roughly 10 billion years, he feels something awaken deep within him as a result of this murder. Could it be (perish the thought) compassion or sympathy?
These thoughts disturb both Lucifer and his best friend and confidante, Mazikeen aka Maze (Lesley-Ann Brandt). Maze is a fierce demon who’s taken the form of a beautiful young woman.
The murder outside the club attracts the attention of LAPD homicide detective Chloe Decker (Lauren German). She’s initially dismissive of Lucifer but she soon becomes intrigued by his talent for drawing out people’s secrets. Chloe also likes his desire to dispense justice, doling out punishment to those who deserve it.
As they work together to solve the pop star’s murder, Lucifer is struck by Chloe’s inherent goodness. Accustomed to dealing with the absolute worst of humanity, Lucifer is intrigued by Chloe’s apparent purity and begins to wonder if there’s hope for his own soul yet.
At the same time, God’s emissary, an angel named Amenadiel (DB Woodside), has been sent to Los Angeles to convince Lucifer to return to the underworld.
Can the Devil incarnate be tempted toward the side of Good — or will his original calling pull him back toward Evil?
Episode #93 — Partners ‘Til the End
Desperate to rescue Rory, Lucifer and Chloe confront her kidnapper with guns and wings blazing. Lucifer finally comes to terms with his purpose.
First aired: September 10, 2021.
What do you think? Do you like the Lucifer TV show? Should it have been cancelled or renewed for a seventh season on Netflix?
It’s amazing how the writers mix the drama with the comedy. The court scene where Luci is demonstrating how Boris was caught and then the contrast where Chloe says that Luci is the devil and former ruler of Hell, then goes on to say that Luci is the best partner she has ever had and that she hopes he can rely on her as much as he relies on her. The two of them looking at each other as she is saying that speaks volumes about where their relationship is at. . Now that Mom knows Chloe is special it’ll… Read more »
I love this show. The show gets better and better. Tom Ellis played the boy next door in an English comedy “Miranda” and now he’s the PERFECT actor to play Lucifer. I can watch this show for years. Please don’t cancel this show.
In an interview Tom Ellis said that Gary was closer to his real personality than Lucifer is. I loved him in Miranda.
I love his show. At first I was turned off by the sex and the drinking and the allusion to drug use, a good has a plot and doesn’t need to resort to that. Now that the characters are evolving, and solving crime, and developing relationships, I very much enjoying it. I enjoyed the Halloween episode where Maze goes trick or treating with the little girl, and her martial arts too. I don’t like Lucifer’s mother, she should go back to hell and let Lucifer be a detective, and Amenadiel figure out his thing with Maze.
Mom makes a great “villain” and the writers are doing a great job in developing her character. I hope Mom sticks around for a while as we see through her machinations why Luci is terrified of her.
Best show on tv! I actually look forward to Mondays now? Please renew Lucifer!
If Fox is smart they should renew the series earlier than the usual time announced for renewals. On CTV Lucifer is in the top 5 most watched shows. It is outperforming Gotham.
Please keep Lucifer on and renew it for 3rd Season. I really enjoy it.
In addition to themes, writing, plot development, humour, etc. we can see the characters developing. The characters we see now are not the same as they were when we first met them.
When we saw Lucifer’s real face in “Monster” and compare it to the faces we saw in the pilot episode and in Season 1 episodes 2 & 4 we can see that Lucifer is changing. A very clever way to show where Luci is on his path to redemption. If the series continues I am sure that by the end Luci’s real face will look like Tom Ellis. Perhaps he will get his wings back. As for Amenadiel his loss of power is more psychological rather than punishment from Dad. His actions in Season 1 were so contrary to his… Read more »
Lucifer is brilliant! (I wouldn’t have known about it had I not watched the return of X-Files, which aired before the initial Lucifer episode.)
I was out of the country recently and missed 3 episodes, am unable to watch them online as my Flash player has crashed and cannot so far be restored.
This series just keeps on getting better and better. Love the way the other characters are being developed especially Maze. I thought it was terrific when she scolded Lucifer. As for Luci imitating Dan- absolutely hilarious but it was nice to see the pair of them bonding. The last scene with Chloe and Luci was very touching and we, the audience can see what this pair do not. I hope the writers don’t “rush” a romance between these two; it’s rather refreshing to see Luci and Chloe develop their relationship slowly and over a period of time. The episode certainly… Read more »
Best show on network telly the last two seasons bar none. The writing and characters are awesome. Someone would have to be a douche to cancel this show! 😉 Just saw last nights show, case in point, “Danformation”, OMG, I almost choked laughing so hard. Every episode has a half dozen classic lines. Keep them coming!
Maze- the bounty hunter. A perfect occupation for her. A nice change from being a kind of zookeeper.
t his is a great show witty and fun love that LUCIFER TOM ELLIS IS A COOL DEVIL PLEASE DON,T CANCEL.
Love it! Please renew
This show is great, every character is fun to watch. Love the chemistry between Tom Ellis and Lauren German
I absolutely love love love this show !!!! Season 2 is even better with all the new characters and sub stories. Never miss it!
Lucifer in one of a very few TV series where I don’t miss an episode. In fact all my friends know that Monday is “Lucifer night”. Besides the humor, writing, themes, plot development, complex characters, etc. this series is like reading a book. Season 2 gets us even more engaged in these characters and kudos to the writers. It was a smart move by Fox to extend this season to 22 episodes and if the network is wise Lucifer will be renewed for Season 3 at an earlier date than May.
Lucifer is the best show on TV..
“Monster”, a very powerful episode. The Lucifer we see in this episode is so different from the Luci we’ve seen up to this point. The writers need to be applauded for creating such a complex character and we do feel his pain. Surely things can’t get any worse for our Luci. As always the writers mix the humour with the pathos and drama. I loved the interaction between Maze & Trixie and Trixe’s reaction when she sees Maze’s true face. The look on Luci’s face when he reveals himself to Linda shows that Tom Ellis is a magnificent actor. I… Read more »
Renew it forever!!
