What’s This TV Show About?
A revival of the comedy series created by Paul Reiser and Danny Jacobson, Mad About You stars Paul Reiser, Helen Hunt, John Pankow, Richard Kind, Abby Quinn, and Anne Ramsay. In its original seven-season run on NBC, the sitcom revolves around the relationship of newlyweds Paul Buchman (Reiser), a documentary filmmaker, and Jamie Stemple Buchman (Hunt), a public relations specialist. The couple’s family and friends include Lisa Stemple (Ramsay), Jamie’s neurotic older sister; Paul’s close friend and cousin, Ira Buchman (Pankow); and friend Doctor Mark Devanow (Kind). In the Spectrum Originals revival, the story picks up many years later, with Paul and Jamie dropping daughter Mabel (Quinn) off at a nearby college. The couple enters a new phase of their lives, as empty-nesters.

Will Spectrum Originals cancel or renew Mad About You for season nine? The show was beloved in the 1990s but doesn’t seem to be widely remembered today. Plus, the revival’s only available to Spectrum customers so I can’t see it getting a large audience. It seems like this revival is intended as a one-and-done so I wouldn’t hold your breath waiting for a renewal. I’ll update this page with breaking developments. Love this show!! Watched the original and watched the new season 2019. Please bring us more Paul and Helen. Paul we need you to get Netflix to being you back to us.
Loved Mad About You when it aired in the 1990’s and watching the DVD’s of the show made the last few years bearable. If spectrum is too inept to renew this still funny show for a continued reboot please Netflix step in and give us another season, I could care less about Chess Players with Weird Haircuts.
Please Keep Mad About You on air. I really enjoyed this show and it felt so well written and easy to watch. A lot of reboots are not this fun to watch.

Omg!!! We love this show so much! My husband and I watched this show back in the 90’s and always loved the chemistry between Helen Hunt and Paul Reiser! We’ve just become empty nesters and this show is as funny and mature and relevant as it always was (maybe even more so!). And we love Mabel!! LOL… please, please, please bring this show back— we NEED IT!

I thought in many ways the recent season was better than seasons six and seven of the original show. I hope they bring it back for another few seasons. It is much better than many things I see on traditional network TV.
