Are you watching Manifest? Recently, creator Jeff Rake spoke with Collider about the future of the NBC TV show.
The drama series revolves around the passengers of a routine airline flight that goes missing — and then reappears. The cast includes Melissa Roxburgh, Josh Dallas, Athena Karkanis, J.R. Ramirez, Luna Blaise, Jack Messina, and Parveen Kaur.
In the interview, Rake revealed he has a long-term plane for Manifest should NBC renewed the series:
In my first incarnation, I did basically have a sense of the ultimate end game, but as anyone who watches or writes television knows, there’s a long way from the beginning to the end. Over the course of the years after I was unsuccessful in getting anyone to bite at the concept, it spent a few years on the shelf. And then, I would noodle with it, and give it more shelf time. And then, I would try to get a producer interested, and noodle with it. Ultimately, I was lucky enough to get Warner Brothers and NBC excited about it last summer. Over the years, I certainly iterated on it throughout. I found some important middle plateaus. And then, it came to me in one fell swoop. The many layers that I intend to bring to the show have been the result of my own contemplating, over the years. Now that I’m working with eight incredibly talented writers in the room with me, I have the benefit of collaborating with all of them to fill in all the gaps in between.”
Rake later added that there are clues planted into each episode of Manifest:
I’d encourage the audience to pay close attention to everything. Anything that’s featured and highlighted, either in dialogue or in a specific cutaway shot to a number or an object, is intentional. We are deliberately planting seeds, and a lot of them will grow into story strands, over the course of the seasons. It’s an organic a process. As we plant these seeds in the writers’ room, we spend a lot of time thinking about where we think the most important strands are and which are the ones that require the most development.”
What do you think? Have you seen Manifest? Do you want a second season?
It’s a good show thus far, but six seasons will certainly be over-kill. If I remember by then, I’ll Google the ending.
Definitely continue on with the series!
yes
I definitely would like to see a second season, and all six actually! I hardly watch fictional TV, but this is the best series I’ve seen since “Resurrection” on ABC a few years back. I agree with what Jeff Rake said… you can’t just halfway pay attention to this show, you have to think. The lack of shows like this the past few years is pretty much what drove me away from fictional TV, so it’s cool to see some really well written shows popping up again!
My f amily LOVES this show…so full of mystery and the unexpected. Likeable characters, too. Please renew!!
Love the show, bring on Season 2
love the show
Love it want more. Can’t wait to see what the next episodes will bring
Fake Lost have no idea where it is going and frankly don’t care.
That is your opinion of how you see the show but Honestly if you paid more attention you may understand the show oh my opinion.
I like this show, but it will never last for 6 seasons. NBC will cancel it before that.
I agree. It seems like NBC is not willing to go past five on many shows that are good
I hope not
I love this show!! I would love more seasons!
I totally agree! .
Want a second season!
I want the show to continue
I love love this show, I’m 73 and a female who waits all week for my fix!!
We like it. If they can keep enough good story lines it can last at leasr a good 3 or 4 seasons. Would like see more about how or why the plane ended up being destroyed.
I knew what they were going to do 5 years ago but then I somehow disappeared but now I’m back to give you another season.

I hope the neilsen viewers stick around to watch this good non-occupational drama. They have a bad history of leaving sci-fi/fantasy dramas after a while lately.
