Back in 2004, ABC hit the ratings jackpot with their Lost TV show, a series about the passengers of an ill-fated airline flight and their mysterious survival. Now, NBC is trying their own airline mystery series called Manifest. Will it be a hit for the peacock network and be renewed for a second season? Or, will it be cancelled, like so many other mystery dramas? Stay tuned. *Status update below.
An NBC drama series, Manifest stars Melissa Roxburgh, Josh Dallas, Athena Karkanis, J.R. Ramirez, Luna Blaise, Jack Messina, and Parveen Kaur. After a family vacation in Jamaica, the Stone family is returning to New York when they are separated by the airline. Adult siblings Michaela (Roxburgh) and Ben (Dallas), along with Ben’s gravely ill son Cal (Messina), are bumped to a later flight. Ben’s wife Grace (Karkanis), daughter Olive (Blaise), and parents fly ahead. The later flight — Montego Air Flight 828 — hits some turbulence but ultimately lands safely. The flight crew and passengers are shocked to learn that five and a half years have passed for the rest of the world. They attempt to reconnect with their loved ones while trying to make sense of their mysterious “second chance”.
The ratings are typically the best indication of a show’s likelihood of staying on the air. The higher the ratings (particularly in the 18-49 demo), the better the chances for survival. This chart will be updated as new ratings data becomes available — usually the next day, around 11:30am EST/8:30am PST. Refresh to see the latest.
2/19 update: You can see the latest night’s ratings in context.
Note: If you’re not seeing the updated chart, please try reloading the page or view it here.
Note: These are the Live + Same Day Ratings which include “live” viewing plus delayed DVR viewing, up until 3am local time that same night. Ratings marked with an “*” are the fast affiliate ratings and will be updated with the Live+SD numbers when they are made available. Typically, networks get paid for C+3 ratings which includes DVR viewing within three days of the original airing when commercials are watched. Those numbers are rarely released to the press.
What do you think? Do you like the Manifest TV series? Should NBC cancel or renew it for season two?
5/15/19 update: NBC has renewed their Manifest TV show for a second season.
I don’t think it should be cancelled it’s really good and I love it!
Hard to find a show with zero likeable characters. Cancel!
Please bring Manifest back for a second season. I absolutely love this show. It is truly amazing.
Please bring Manifest back for another season. I absolutely love this show. It is truly amazing!!!!
The worst series I’ve ever paid for on iTunes, Only 2 or 3 lead actors are playing good, the rest of cast are terrible and you can’t make a connection with them, The kid is so annoying, The story is very slow. I wish I could get a refund for this.
The shows premise sounded promising 1st episode was good but the other episodes just didn’t cut it they draged them out and nothing was happening.
Awesome add for the Peacock network, love this and Midnight.
This show hasn’t had a compelling episode since week two. It’s becoming a waste of time, which probably accounts for the continuous drop off of viewers. All these creative forces in Hollywood trying to recapture the magic of “Lost”; What these writers seem to have forgotten, is that to produce magic, you have to actually be CREATIVE! This show’s not going to make it to another season. It’s already riding on empty. Short of putting the passengers back on the plane and hoping for a better destination next time, this show is already DYING! Maybe the networks need to bring… Read more »
I am actually a fan…Yeah it may have had a slow start but I’ve tuned in every week to watch and I am loving it. It doesn’t need to be at a fast pace each week. I’m totally fine with the pace it’s going. I say keep up the good work…
If the show keeps bleeding viewership, down 25% from week 2 to week 6 (or 40% from the premier) and a weekly drop in the demo from week 1, Manifest may not make it beyond season 1 if it doesn’t stabilize soon. Appears to be in for a bumpy flight this season.
It’s almost like its the same people writing these failed shows! They keep making the same mistakes over and over. Start with a bang and fizzles out trying to stretch the plots over a season even if they have to put in inane episodes. This show is losing viewers every week because they don’t have the cachet to take their foot off the pedal. And yeah the voices and the flashbacks are tripe. Don’t networks have people that delve into why shows fail? This show is gonna fail if it continues this way. Last 3 episodes have barely moved the… Read more »
I am totally entertained by Manifest. Excellent cast and story.
I stopped watching because of the cast. Josh Dallas is not very strong, and that’s why he worked on Once Upon a Time because he was a secondary or tertiary character, but his sister in the show is actually worse. Made it unwatchable. It’s too bad, the lead female in The Blacklist did the same exact thing.
Too much of television entertainment is decided by committee, so a bunch of executives trying to decide why a show fails is a waste of time. What they need are writers fresh to television. Writers who aren’t worn down by… Well… Committees! Writers who write for the joy of writing, and don’t feel compelled to please network executives. That’s the only way creativity is going to blossom around the, for lack of a better term, MORONS who run the networks!
Cancel. 4 hours of my life I’ll never get back!!
I liked the pilot, but now im not liking how slow paced it feels and after reading the creators want 6 seasons to tell the story has completely lost me!
I stopped watching it this week. I agree, it started good, but got pretty boring. Not moving fast enough, rehashing the same stuff. bummer.
I’m hanging in, now now. It has a distinctive “Twilight Zone” flavor to it. Not a fan of the voices/music/telepathy aspect, though.
And … if ratings drop, will the series end without a wrap-up/conclusion like “Colony”, “The Crossing” and “Salvation”?
This show had potential, following what passengers, their family and others do and react when the passengers mysteriously return 5 years later without aging. Then the writers ruined it with this voice in the head thing, controlled by some mysterious voice. That was enough for me to say, forget this show.
Yeah I’m right there with you. I didn’t like the pilot, but I thought the premise was at least promising. I expect a strong downtick every week.
