Score one for the good guys. ABC has picked up Marvel’s Agents of SHIELD for a full season and has ordered nine additional episodes. This will bring the show’s first season tally to 22 installments.
A continuation of the movies that feature Marvel superheroes, Marvel’s Agents of SHIELD follows a group of specialized government agents as they handle cases involving superhumans. The cast includes Clark Gregg, Ming-Na Wen, Brett Dalton, Chloe Bennet, Iain De Caestecker, and Elizabeth Henstridge.
The most highly-anticpated new series of the season, SHIELD premiered to a whopping 4.7 rating in the 18-49 demographic with 12.12 million viewers. The second episode’s numbers dropped nearly 30% and this week’s demo fell another 12%.
It’s still one of ABC‘s highest-rated series and apparently the network feels confident that the numbers will level off soon.
ABC needs new successful hour series and this looks like their best hope thus far this season. Lucky 7 tanked right out of the gate and Betrayal isn’t doing much better.
What do you think? Are you glad to hear there will be additional episodes? Do you think it will end up being renewed for a second season?
Love the show, I hope it is picked up next year!
Well being a male, if they continue to have Chloe Bennet run in low cut blouses with less then adequate support, I will probably stay and watch. 😀
Still though, more background on the characters is needed.
And you know during the ratings sweeps, a superhero will make an appearance. 🙂
The ratings are dropping week-by-week. Why pick it up?
Have you seen how the rest of their new shows are doing?
Good, love the show hope it goes on forever.
Very happy for a full order pick-up, now lets hope for a second season!
