NBC’s new Midnight, Texas TV show was originally supposed to premiere during the mid-season, but the Peacock Network decided to slate the ten-episode first season for summer. That’s typically not a good sign. Can the supernatural drama draw enough summertime viewers to score a second season, or will the series slip into obscurity? Will Midnight, Texas be cancelled or renewed for season two? Stay tuned.
Based on the book series of the same name, from True Blood author Charlaine Harris, Midnight, Texas stars François Arnaud, Dylan Bruce, Parisa Fitz-Henley, Arielle Kebbel, Jason Lewis, Peter Mensah, Sarah Ramos, and Yul Vázquez. The NBC TV series plays out in the remote Texas town of Midnight, where nothing is what it seems. There, only outsiders belong, while normality is just plain weird. It is the best haven for people who need to hide from the world at large. The townies come together to form a sort of chosen family. Together they fend off external pressures from nosy police officers, vicious biker gangs, and their own dark pasts.
The ratings are typically the best indication of a show’s likelihood of staying on the air. The higher the ratings (particularly the 18-49 demo), the better the chances for survival. This chart will be updated as new ratings data becomes available — usually the next day, around 11:30am EST/8:30am PST. Refresh to see the latest.
9/19 update: You can see the rest of the latest night’s ratings.
Note: If you’re not seeing the updated chart, please try reloading the page or view it here.
Note: These are the Live + Same Day Ratings which include “live” viewing plus delayed DVR viewing, up until 3am local time that same night. Ratings marked with an “*” are the fast affiliate ratings and will be updated with the Live+SD numbers when they are made available. Typically, networks get paid for C+3 ratings which includes DVR viewing within three days of the original airing when commercials are watched. Those numbers are rarely released to the press.
What do you think? Do you like the Midnight, Texas TV series? Should it be cancelled or renewed for a second season on NBC?
2/14/18 update: NBC has renewed Midnight, Texas for a second season. Details here.
This is a great show, keep it on. I am so sick of seeing so-called reality TV.
Love it and love that’s it’s on in the summer when everything else is reruns.
Please RENEW. …..we need something other than reality TV shows !
Please renew this show! It is so different from the usual network type show. I’ve read the books, and I LOVE the show. Please, please renew this show!
Love the show waiting for next season
Renew this show. Love it!
Please renew. Love this show!!!!
Good show, looking forward to next season. I have no tv so I watch it online. You know, not everyone has a tv, some of us watch it on our phone, tablet, or computer.
loooove this show!!! really hoping there is a season 2!!!!!!
I’m totally shocked at this! Totally as it’s got loads of potential to become like its predecessors True blood and supernatural! The cast is incredible and bring us out of the crazy world of work living and something to chill to while the kids have gone to bed! I strongly think you should reconsider this and give it another season! The cast and crew worked so hard on it and I hope to see more!

It’s such a great show- creepy, funny, interesting, great storylines and characters- my favorite new show! I’ll be so sorry if it’s canceled. Also, make season 2 a full season!
Pls do not cancel midnight texas. Best show on tv. Pls
I’m a fan of Midnight Texas. I’d watch a second season!
Midnight Texas, is the BEST supernatural show on TV now. The producers of True Blood out did themselves again! I’m dying to see season two. For me this show is side by side to my walking dead show. My husband (who’s hard to get to like a show) even watches Midnight with me… Its become one of our favorite past times. Please come back with more seasons…. PLEASE!!!!!!
I LOVE IT!! After Grimm finished, I needed some more weirdness on TV. Midnight Texas did it for me! I hope they keep it going. I know sometimes story lines can only last for so long, but at least four season would be great! The cat needs more lines! LOL
Yes, love that cat! He’s something else!!!
