TV show description:
This comedy series follows a single mother named Christy (Anna Faris) who is newly sober and decides to restart her life in the Napa Valley in California. Her sobriety is tested by her mother, Bonnie (Allison Janney), who introduced alcohol and drugs to Christy at an early age and is also in recovery.
Bonnie’s working on repairing their mother-daughter relationship and is all too happy to offer insights into Christy’s mistakes.
Christy’s children are Violet (Sadie Calvano) a sarcastic 16-year-old, and Roscoe (Blake Garrett Rosenthal), an innocent and honest pre-teen. Violet has a sexually-active relationship with a long-haired clueless dude named Luke (Spencer Daniels) and Christy is worried that her daughter will repeat her mistake of dropping out and becoming a teen mother.
To make matters worse, Roscoe’s father, Baxter (Matt Jones), is back in the picture — at least for as long as the red van he lives in isn’t towed away.
Christy gets a job as a waitress at a posh restaurant that’s managed by Gabriel (Nick Corddry). He’s very supportive of her and they share a sexual attraction — unfortunately, he has a snotty wife named Claudia. Rudy (French Stewart) is the establishment’s thoughtless and temperamental head chef.
Christy tries to remain as positive as she can while pursuing her new path in life. Unfortunately, it’s an uphill battle thanks to a very dysfunctional support system.
Episode #170 — My Kinda People and the Big To-Do
Bonnie gains a new outlook on her sobriety after dealing with difficult news. Also, Jill and Andy take a big step in their relationship.
First aired: May 6, 2021.

I love Mom. I find it funny and enjoy it watching it. I hope it’s not cancelled.
I see by all the comments that I am in the minority. I think the show is in poor taste. However given the right to turn off my set…it is hard to do when we are bombarded with previews in the middle of the cute shows.
And it is shown MANY times on different channels. Show it late night with the other questionable shows. I have never watched an episode but don’t have too if the previews are truly a preview. And please don’t compare it to Friends.
I love the show, “Mom”. It is one of the few shows to deal with addiction in a truthful yet funny way. There are so many people going this; we need more shows like “Mom”. I would love to see a show in the spirit of Mom but with a child in active addiction and parents struggling with the situation. True equality and representation is not just about minorities (I’m a minority) but about people going through experiences that make them feel marginalized. Thank you, Chuck Lorre, for creating a show like “Mom”.
OMG love love this show. Yes, Carmen you are so right. They touch on so many issues that happen in real life. We SO NEED THIS SHOW!!! YES THANK YOU CHUCK LORRE LOVE HIM FOR SURE!!!! I can’t wait for Bonnie to get married to Adam that should be really good.
I know in the summer time there is nothing good on so I have got everyone like my mom and her husband watching it as well as my friends watching this show. THEY ALL LOVE THIS SHOW!!! I really hope this stays on for a long time.
I love this show, but Christy going to gamblers anonymous maybe she’s finally getting it right. But what else is going to fall by the wayside, I’m excited to find out. I would love to write for this show.
Mom is a good show. However Christy is an AA failure! AA teaches you to take responsibility for your actions and she doesn’t,. Blaming anyone else is abject failure. Please get it right.
Best show ever,It has a lot of meaning.
