NCIS will return to CBS tonight with the second half of its 13th season, and there are reports that one of the members of the main cast will leave at the end of this season.
In an interview with Vulture Hound Magazine, David McCallum spoke about the series and his character, but he also revealed that it is known to the members of the cast that one member of the cast is ready to leave the series at the end of this season. McCallum also revealed that fans might only see him on the series for one more season.
He said:
“We’re going to finish shooting this season at the end of April, and DiNozzo, played by Michael Weatherly, we’ve told people a long time ago, is leaving at the end of the season. So the writers have to decide what to do when one of the four members of the original cast leaves. When Michael leaves, there’ll just be three of us. I will go on doing Ducky for at least another year I believe, provided my health holds up. Things aren’t quite as easy at eighty two as they were at twenty eight! So I will go on as long as I can.”
NCIS is still the top series on network television. For season 13, the series has an average of 16.783 million viewers per episode. The series has successfully launched two spin-offs, and tonight’s return is a crossover with NCIS: New Orleans titled “Sister City.”
It is clear that NCIS is still a big hit for CBS, but does the fact that two main members of the cast are leaving the series this season and next mean that it is time for NCIS to come to an end? Could members of the cast move to one of the other NCIS series like CSI has done with Ted Danson and CSI: Cyber?
Check out a sneak peek from tonight’s crossover episode below. How long do you want NCIS to stay on the air? Tell us what you think.
please end after this year it need go out on top.
I wish that this show could be forever on the tv !!!
This is my favorite show and there are also some other girls from my class who just love to watch ncis!!!
Please , don’t end ncis !!! Please !!!
And this show is for every age and for everyone all over the world !!! From children to old people!!!
( I am 13 years old and I live in Belgium )
As long as it can…… LOVE this show.
I have been a longtime, loyal fan of NCIS..no question about it. It is my belief that a show should go out ON TOP rather than shutting down with several lame episodes. I think you should wrap it up. Instead, be remembered for one of the best series on TV to the very end. I feel that several things should be “wrapped up.” If Gibbs is changing and doing better, we should see some of his counseling sessions….if he is truly a “remade man,” let him date ANYbody who does not have red hair. A few lines Gibbs has had… Read more »
I think it’s time to call it quits. Been a long time fan, but I truly feel this branch of Ncis has run it’s course. I can’t see how you can continue without DiNozzo he’s been on the show since the jag spinoff!! Personally I will not be watching anymore without DiNozzo, that would be like jag writing off rabb. They should cancel after this 13th season. Jag only made it 10 seasons..
I love, love, love NCIS and even watch the reruns constantly. i have watched NCIS EVERY TIME it comes on. I hated it when Ziva left but now I am getting used to Ellie and I like her alot. I can’t believe that Tony is leaving. I think the writers should make his exit where he goes back to find Ziva and they renew their love and he stays with her. THAT WOULD BE SO AWESOME.
I love this show . .. it has it fun quirks and great character blend between them all…. Michael will be missed…. I also think they need to make it a love STORY between Tony and Ziva….. I hope the show continues . …..please stay on……..
NIS in my favorite show and I love all the characters just as they are. Michael Weatherly’s leaving is a shock to me, but I figured his character would end soon, as he is getting older and can’ continue to be the team clown but there’s nothing wrong with having a more serious DiNozo. I have to agree with other peoples comments, I hope that his leaving the show is because of Ziva. I do not want to see him “killed off.” His leaving comes as a shock, as only a few months ago, I read that he said, “he… Read more »
IMO if Michael Weatherly (Tony) leaves NCIS it should be because Ziva contacts him and tells him they have a child and he should go to Isreal to be with thier child. I don’t want him to leave but that would make it easier to except if he does go! That would be a Great Romantic gesture and help make me personally feel better . How does that sound to you all? Just curious
I love this show and every time they have had a cast change (Kate, Ziva) I figured it would be the end but it always comes back stronger than before. Hopefully that will happen again. I will miss DeNozo though. He’s developed into a great character. Maybe he and Ziva will get together (lol).
I like N.C.I.S. shows and others too. But I want the show continue on and also the others too, so I would like to them to keep going forever. And I hope N.C.I.S. will continue the show and everything else too.
This show has inspired me to do what I really want to do as a career, which is work as a forensic scientist or agent in the field for a government agency and I think it is an inspiration to others as well. It should not be taken off the air any time soon. I look forward to new episodes every Tuesday. It helps me escape from the world. I love NCIS!
I wish him the best of luck. Was this a money issue? He was making $250,000 per episode. I hope he can find that somewhere else. Cote de Pablo wanted $250,000 per episode. Maybe NCIS would bring her back. if NCIS:LA is ended, Chris O’Donnell or LLCOOLJ could be good replacements. Maybe Danny Pino will be available after his summer show bombs. Weatherly is a very good actor. He was definitely worth the money. Was he worth more? You make the call.
I think the “American Public” will let CBS know when it’s time to end NCIS (any NCIS) … My opinion, thanks …XyAGa
I don’t know how long I want NCIS to stay on the air for. Maybe, 18 or 20 seasons. As for NCIS: Los Angeles, it should stay on the air for 15 seasons. I know how long I want NCIS: New Orleans to stay on the air for, 12 seasons. I just hope they’ll leave the door open for Ziva, Tony and Ducky to return in the future. CBS should bring Vivian Blackadder (Robyn Lively) back as a guest star. Because I wanna know what happened to her since she was last seen in JAG and why she left NCIS.… Read more »
