NCIS will return to CBS tonight with the second half of its 13th season, and there are reports that one of the members of the main cast will leave at the end of this season.
In an interview with Vulture Hound Magazine, David McCallum spoke about the series and his character, but he also revealed that it is known to the members of the cast that one member of the cast is ready to leave the series at the end of this season. McCallum also revealed that fans might only see him on the series for one more season.
He said:
“We’re going to finish shooting this season at the end of April, and DiNozzo, played by Michael Weatherly, we’ve told people a long time ago, is leaving at the end of the season. So the writers have to decide what to do when one of the four members of the original cast leaves. When Michael leaves, there’ll just be three of us. I will go on doing Ducky for at least another year I believe, provided my health holds up. Things aren’t quite as easy at eighty two as they were at twenty eight! So I will go on as long as I can.”
NCIS is still the top series on network television. For season 13, the series has an average of 16.783 million viewers per episode. The series has successfully launched two spin-offs, and tonight’s return is a crossover with NCIS: New Orleans titled “Sister City.”
It is clear that NCIS is still a big hit for CBS, but does the fact that two main members of the cast are leaving the series this season and next mean that it is time for NCIS to come to an end? Could members of the cast move to one of the other NCIS series like CSI has done with Ted Danson and CSI: Cyber?
Check out a sneak peek from tonight’s crossover episode below. How long do you want NCIS to stay on the air? Tell us what you think.
No! It will NEVER be time for NCIS to go off. I watch all three whenever on. Other crime shows are too gory.
NCIS is one of the best ever. Ncis Los Angeles and New Orleans Are great too. But Gibbs and.ducky and Abby and tony. And McGee !!! Really make me look forward to watching them every week. Can’t believe how many years they’ve been on. !! The writers actors and casting people are great I do not understand why actors leave. The cast is perfect the way it is. I hate when they replace someone They lost Kate then Ziva. !!!!! Now tony. !!! Somehow we get used to the new people but tony may be hard to replace. I hope… Read more »
I hope the show will continue! It’s one of 2 shows I still watch from “regular” network shows!
Forever. come on Mike stay with ncis
Just watched NCIS and Taye Diggs was a wounded warrier looking for something new to do with his life. Maybe be a new member of NCIS when he’s well? That would be a good fit I think.
I remember growing up w/ So many wonderful shows and they are gone:( I guess the same will happen when NCIS goes off the air. These shows gave us so much happiness and memories. They will always be in my heart.
Forever
Ncis, csi and law and order, got me through my divorce, and has been with me since!! Love, love love my t.v. families!!
For the new role, Angelina Jolie would be a great fit! The role is similar to her Tomb Raider roles as well as her role in SALT.
Another person for this role could be the ATF partner of Marty Deeks from NCIS:LA (Don’t know her name) She and Kenzi got into it over Marty, then became friends. Not sure of the episode. She reminds me of Angelina Jolie..looks, toughness, kindness, etc.
An ending cliffhanger thought is to have a hello/good-bye episode bringing Ziva back as Tony leaves with Jeane Benoit.
Please try… big NCIS fan, through all the changes. Watch in syndication also.
Aloha. NCIS without Tony will fail. I have stopped being a regular fan, viewing show less and less due to the loss of Ziva, with Tony”s exit that’s it for me.!! Why did u have to ruin such an excellent show???
Timmy in real life Belisario’s stepson stuck on ncis because who know. However, that tells you why Tony’s character has been made into a buffoon. I agree. NCIS is a goner.
WE love NCIS. It should go even with new people.
Forever….and ever. It is a part of our lives!
I think NCIS should go on as long as possible. It is the best show ever. I love it and look forward to watching is every time. Thanks to the cast and the writer awesome job.
I think that it should go no as long as possible
