Looks like Scorpion will be back for a new round of missions. Today, CBS announced they’ve renewed the series for a third season, which will air during the 2016-2017 season.
Scorpion stars Elyes Gabel, Robert Patrick, Katharine McPhee, Jadyn Wong, Ari Stidham and Eddie Kaye Thomas as a team of experts who use their abilities and skills to help solve complex global problems.
Currently in its second season, the action drama is performing strongly in the ratings, with a 1.81 average in the 18-49 demo and about 9.83 million viewers per episode so far. For comparison, last season received an average of 10.96 million viewers per episode and a 2.3 rating in the 18-49 demo.
Today, the network announced 2016-17 season renewals of 10 other shows as well — 2 Broke Girls, The Amazing Race, Blue Bloods, Elementary, Hawaii Five-0, Madam Secretary, Mom, NCIS: Los Angeles, NCIS: New Orleans, and Survivor.

I’m amused with the story line between Happy & Toby! Happy amuses me with her wanna-be thick skin, but from her past experience with emotional trama its clearly a wall Toby must navigate while he carries his own baggage of personal issues. I love the fact shes smart, cute and fantastic with tools. Paige approached Walter about possibly courting he said “no way” its bad for the team! I am a forever fan! I program my TV as soon as the next week’s guide is listed! I purchased the complete first season for myself just so I can watch them anytime. As far as a favorite character, I can’t say other than I don’t care for the new guy brought in for a strong arm person and love interest? The original cast is the BEST!!!
I love the character of Toby now that he doesn’t gamble. All of them are great! I really love this show.
My entire family are all big fans of Scorpion. I can’t pick a favorite cast member. They all, are one part of a big wonderful picture. I hope the show stays on the air for many more seasons to come.
One of my favorites and would be sad if it didn’t return next season.
