Why does Supernatural need to end? Recently, CW boss Mark Pedowitz explained why the TV show is ending after 15 seasons, EW reports.
The long-running drama series centers on the paranormal adventures of the Winchester brothers, Dean (Jensen Ackles) and Sam (Jared Padalecki). The cast also includes Misha Collins and Alexander Calvert.
During this year’s summer TCA press conference, Pedowitz explained why Supernatural is ending this season. Pedowitz said that he had a “very, very long, sad, heartbreaking discussion” with the show’s stars, as well as Warner Bros. Television president Peter Roth.
“We all came to understand what the guys wanted to do,” Pedowitz said, explaining that Ackles and Padalecki wanted to go out while the show was “still relevant.” Additionally, Pedowitz cited spending time with their families and seeing “what else was out in the world” as the guys’ reasons for ending the show.
However, there may be a chance for a future revival. Star Jensen Ackles recently teased a possible reunion in the future, TVLine reports:
It’s a long journey that I don’t think is ever going to be over. I think we’re just going to go away for a while. For how long, I don’t know.”
The 15th and final season of Supernatural premieres on The CW on October 10th at 8 p.m. ET/PT.

I was really hoping Supernatural would continue on to Season 16. Maybe they will miss doing the show as much as we will miss seeing them! There are many more seasons worth of subject matter they can cover. I think the whole crew does an excellent job of entertaining and keeping everyone interested in what will happen next!! The Winchester’s adventures are a refreshing distraction at the end of the day!! Hopefully they won’t be gone too long!!
I had have my favorite TV shows that I liked but The Supernatural Show had me locked in its more than a show to me.. Supernatural is by farthest the best show I have ever seen in my entire life its fun its entertaining its funny and also can be sad.. I just hope this is just a tiny little break for them to come up with more ideas and make a big return I hope #WinchestersNeverSayDie
DEFINITELY want this show to continue. Jensen was correct there has to be more of Supernatural, please don’t let it end.

Man the way it end I thought for sure there’s going to be a 16 season one of my most favorite tv shows of all time. No way that’s the end. I’m a family man as well you all deserve a time out to enjoy life with the family just please comeback once the time is right we gotta get chuck back lol !!!!

Hundred percent my favorite show I’ve been watched binge watched it twice still upset I haven’t got to see the ending really going to miss you guys personally I think it’s one of the greatest shows ever created really hope you come out with another season or four
I love Supernatural and have watched it from beginning to end. it was my favorite show outside of Hawaii 50. Fellas, please just take a break and then come back as you all are truly missed. The original cast is the best and no substitutes allowed!!
I’ve been watching supernatural for 15 years and am a huge fan!! You can’t just end it like that!! There’s so many unanswered questions!! Please bring back Sam and Dean for a final season!!
My son has watched Supernatural episodes about ……a lot of times over and over. He grew up with it for 5 years of his life he is 19 now. The cast just seem like part of our life.
I loved Supernatural and don’t want it to end.
I’ve been watching this show since the beginning and I’ve enjoyed all of it. I would watch another season if it came out. The show has evolved. The characters have evolved. Overall it’s a very entertaining show that doesn’t take itself too seriously. They are kind of running out of storylines. I think this last season is going to be the topper. I’ve been watching this show since the beginning. I enjoy it immensely. Kind of sad to see it go. However that being said I can understand. These guys are now grown men with families and the show is getting a little long in the tooth. Still fun to watch. Thanks for a great run guys! I hope you find stuff some other stuff to do.
