Swamp Thing just recently wrapped airing its season on The CW, and that has some viewers wondering if the network could bring back the show for a second season. The series previously aired on DC Universe where it was quickly cancelled. The CW aired the 10 episodes to fill in programming slots because of the pandemic.
Per Deadline, Mark Pedowitz, Chairman and CEO of The CW, revealed that the series did well on their digital platform CW Seed, but it will not be revived for a second season. However, fans could see the Swamp Thing character pop up elsewhere. A possibility of the character appearing on DC’s Legends of Tomorrow (ala Constantine’s John Constantine) was teased.
He said the following:
“It’d be interesting to have Swamp Thing on Legends of Tomorrow, that would be a fun way to do it, but I’m not sure that would happen.”
The Swamp Thing series is based on DC Comics characters and revolves around a deadly swamp-bourne virus and a disgraced scientist’s return. The show stars Crystal Reed, Virginia Madsen, Andy Bean, Derek Mears, Henderson Wade, Maria Sten, Jeryl Prescott, Will Patton, Leonardo Nam, Kevin Durand, Jennifer Beals, and Ian Ziering.

Swamp Thing was a well done show and it stayed faithful the the comic origin as well as attempting to populate the DC-verse with many new characters like Blue Devil and Xanadu. It should be picked up as a replacement for “Green” Arrow, get it, So I hope the powers that be at CW will consider this. Swamp Thing was probably one of the best TV series I ever watch and it’s sad to see it go to waste! We need a season 2!
#saveswampthing that’s all I have to say really… It’s a great show. Nothing like it on TV. The action, the scary vibe, and the odd love affair….. Save it!!! Season 2 is wanted!!!

It’s a shame they canceled “another “ good show. I wished they’d do a 2nd season since they left us fans wanting more.

Wanted a season 2 so bad
Would love to see a season 2 Swamp Thing, absolutely loved the first one so many twists and turns, I was left wanting more. So sad to hear they didnt have a season 2, I’m so disappointed.
I was really hoping for a season 2, it’s frustrating that some of the dumbest shows get continued and shows that deserve to continue on that seem to have a strong backing get dropped by dumb networks. Bring the show back!
