Episode 01-01 & 02: Monday, 9/26/11
The two hour premiere attracted a 3.1 rating in the all-important 18-49 demographic and 9.22 million. It was in third place for the timeslots and surely a disappointment for FOX considering the production expenses and promotion.
On the positive side, the two hours showed very good retention which means that most people who tuned in kept watching until the end. That’s a positive indicator for next week.
When you compare this with last season’s 8pm premiere of House, the network was down by 24% in the demo. On the positive side, Terra Nova improved over last year’s quickly-cancelled Lone Star premiere by 238%.
Note: These ratings are collected by the Nielsen company and are the final national numbers. These are different from the fast affiliate numbers which are just estimates of the actual ratings and are reported on by most other outlets. The final nationals are typically released within 24 hours of the programming or, in the case of weekends and holidays, a couple days later.
What do you think? Do you like the Terra Nova TV series? Do you think it should be cancelled or renewed for a second season?

What the #$%#$#. So thought this was the one that was up on top, no doubt!!!!!!!!!!!! The writing was fantastic.. What happened? Who ever cancelled Terra Nova did not know what they were doing. I hope syfy picks it up. Or maybe TNT. Everyone needs to go to syfy and have them pick it up. So disappointed!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
I would greatly appreciate it if Fox especially, would stop taking the good shows off and putting on reality shows. All we are seeing now are nothing but reality shows its getting to the point why watch tv anymore. You want reality just look at your own life or really take a look at others not what directors want you to see honestly to us not interested. We need Terra Nova & Alcatraz they keep you in suspense until next time, also two thumbs up to the great writers. If you do plan too cancell dont leave your viewers hangin… Read more »
its the best drama i have seen in ages, i live in Saudi Arabia and I’m Sudanese (that’s in Africa) and all my friends here and back home loved the series because it gave us hope about family ties and friendships, i really hope the series continues cause believe me there are a lot of rubbish series out there that talks only a bout sex and hate. please please bring back the series as the characters are all grown to us here in our harts. specially the family.
Loved the show !!!!!
Bring it back…. it was one of the few shows that was original and interesting to watch. It seemed like I was constantly running into random people who would ask what happened on the last show if they happened to miss it. It definitely had a following.
Bring it back now – it is so much better than most of the realty shows that dominate the screen
Thoroughly enjoyed Terra Nova – couldn’t wait until the next season began – big shock to hear it was cancelled.
this was a favorite of mine – soo disappointed that there will not be a second season – how do these ratings work – must be incorrect – Bring the show back
If FOX doesn’t want a GREAT!!!! show, then what about the SyFy Channel. It could fall right in line with Being Human, Alphas, Lost Girls, etc. Really hope to see Terra Nova again.

So Bummed, Fox keeps cancelling really good shows that are not the same old reality crap. Bring back Terra Nova, was a great show!
Loved Terra Nova and I want a season 2

I agree what a lot of the people on this list shows like Terranova Alcatraz the River great storylines and they keep us hanging it in of the season that was just like V that was a great when I couldn’t wait to see the next season is the extraordinary family I couldn’t wait to see what happened to the family if they going to leave a show and cancel it it needs to at least be finished in at one season they should’ve have none that they weren’t going to cancel it and made the final episode a real… Read more »
Ditto to all above. Why must the cancel show like this but keep on showing the Bachelor, Survivor, all the so called Talent Shows. How much such programming are they going to cram down our throats. I would much rather see another season of Terra Nova and Alcatraz and other shows that have been cancelled unfairly. When will the TV Network Heads get the hint???
This show has more viewers than the top three shows and a much better story. My family and I really like this show. It has a very unique story line. It is different than any other show. We would really like it to have more seasons…
