Episode 01-01 & 02: Monday, 9/26/11
The two hour premiere attracted a 3.1 rating in the all-important 18-49 demographic and 9.22 million. It was in third place for the timeslots and surely a disappointment for FOX considering the production expenses and promotion.
On the positive side, the two hours showed very good retention which means that most people who tuned in kept watching until the end. That’s a positive indicator for next week.
When you compare this with last season’s 8pm premiere of House, the network was down by 24% in the demo. On the positive side, Terra Nova improved over last year’s quickly-cancelled Lone Star premiere by 238%.
Note: These ratings are collected by the Nielsen company and are the final national numbers. These are different from the fast affiliate numbers which are just estimates of the actual ratings and are reported on by most other outlets. The final nationals are typically released within 24 hours of the programming or, in the case of weekends and holidays, a couple days later.

I love Terra Nova. I have not missed even one episode and look forward to the next. It is one that the whole family can enjoy and agree that the possibilities are endless for future seasons. I would be a shame to lose a great show.
Love the show! Terra Nova is one of only a handful of shows that the entire family can watch together!
My wife and I have enjoyed watching “Terra Nova” since it began. I think the show should deffinetly renewed.
Great show, Terra Nova definitely should be renewed! My wife and I really look forward to it coming out every week. Definitely has a hook and a bait to catch viewers. Looking forward to finding out what is going on in the bad lands, maybe another portal to the 1800s?
Just wanted to put my vote in to keep TN. It’s a great show. I watch TV via iTunes and NetFlix as I am overseas and do not have standard cable or sat access. I hope that you are taking into account the number of online views and purchases of shows into your ratings numbers. It would be a horrible oversight if you didn’t.
Please, Please save Terra Nova!!!! It’s an amazing show. It has been in the Top 10 since the first episode. Overall, it has better ratings than the Simpsons.
YES OF COURSE, Terra Nova SHOULD be renewed. It is one of best TV shows, especially for family tv show that I ever watched and always looked forward to watch the week later. I am HOPING for Terra Nova returned for next season. Please RENEW!!!! Please Please Please!!! P.S. I absolutely HATE reality shows and I am sure a lot of people do agree with me!
KEEP TERRA NOVA!
I’ve been waiting so long for a series like this. Please don’t cancel it.
Myself, my friend we had always kept watching it.
10/10
Great Show. Please keep it!
why is it when a show that is family orienten and responsible, it is questioned and deemed unworthy if public worthiness. terra nova is very worthwhile and a great concept of family values.
Terra Nova is one of the better shows to come along in a long time. As usual good shows get kicked to the curb by the networks.
I really like the show. The last scene really got my attention and to think of the possibilities for next season!!!!
