If you need proof that The Firm is doomed to be cancelled by NBC, you just have to look at the show’s ratings. Not only did the new legal series bomb on Thursday nights but it’s currently being trounced on Saturday nights as well — airing opposite CSI: New York repeats, 20/20, and FOX’s forgotten Q’Viva! The Chosen reality series.
The ratings for The Firm have been so poor that one had to start wondering if NBC might bump the series off the Saturday schedule as well. Well, that’s what they’re doing — at least for one week.
This week’s episode of The Firm has been replaced by a rerun of the 90-minute premiere of Fashion Star (which debuts tonight). That will be followed by an encore of the first episode of Betty White’s Off Their Rockers, which first aired in January. Rockers returns to the NBC schedule on April 4th.
On March 24th, NBC has slotted an episode of the USA Network series Fairly Legal at 8pm, a slot that had been filled by reruns of Smash. The network hasn’t announced which episode of Fairly Legal will air but the season two opener (which will run this Friday on USA) seems likely.
The network is shaking up their Saturday night schedule and if they can come up with better numbers than what The Firm has been getting, the legal drama could easily be off the schedule for good. NBC has aired just 10 of the show’s 22 episodes thus far.
What do you think? Are you still watching NBC’s The Firm? Do you watch the episodes on Saturday nights, on demand or online? Would you be upset if NBC pulled it for good?

It is so frustrating to start watching a series and have it move around. And then disappear. It is a great show with an exciting plot. Just like Harry’s Law they want to get rid of it before it has a chance. This is one of the few non reality shows on TV. Please at least inish the episodes already produced!
I love the this show. It is really good. It is one the best dramas on tv . Please do not cancel
I love watching this show! It is by far one of the best dramas on tv today. John Grisham is a genius writer that kept me captivated with each one of his amazing books. I was wondering if he would ever write tv. He did! He didn’t disappoint one bit. Im really surprised to see it cancelled because of such low ratings. If this is not a good show please nbc, tell me a better one!
My husband and I just found The Firm and REALLY enjoy it. Cancel some of those ridiculous reality shows and leave a show on that we can enjoy. We just watched on right after the other on Demand and thought it was one of the best shows we have seen in some time. We would look forward to seeing it continue.
I love this show, I find the new shows never get a long enough time on the air for people to catch on. I would be disapointed once again if this show gets canceled.
The NBC Network is getting ready to cancel yet another great show “The Firm” with
star Josh Lucus. This is a bad move and a reason viewers are moving to cable networks
for their entertainment.
This is a good drama. NBC never gave it a chance for an audience to grow. Instead of mindless tv, let us viewers at least get to watch the last episodes. There were stories in stories of the show and good acting and characters. How much more reality tv do we need. You have a good show, let it catch on and put it on during the week not the graveyard Saturdays.
I am extremely upset that the only show I enjoy watching has been bumped, and possible cancelled. The show had great actors, a lot of character, a great story line, and I really enjoyed it. I think NBC would be making a mistake by replacing it with another one of NBC’s crumby shows like Smash (no offense.) Chuck and The Firm should still be around. What a shame.
Please dont take it off I love the show give it a chance move it to another day see how it does I hate reality tv
Please NBC there are those of us which crave GOOD television programing. It irritatates me that producers still think REALITY TV is the only gold. I take it as a personal insult that you think we with a Brain want this kind of Programs. I hate them. The firm, is intelligent exciting and we cant hardly wait Saturday to Saturday and is set in the DVR to program!!!! Please more CSI”S Crap as an option I have been CSI”D to DEATH. My fiance and I love the action , the brain and the actors!!!! Its hard to find something this… Read more »
I Love this show!! When it went from Sunday to Thursday I followed. Then when it went to Saturdays I also followed. I think that NBC should give this show more time. I also think that if it is cancelled NBC should let those if us that love it at least be able to watch the last episodes made. They should make it available online and on demand if they do not want to air them on TV. I really hope though that NBC keeps this show. Not all of us like to watch reality shows and this is finally… Read more »
I am very sorry to see The Firm go. It was an all-time favorite of mine; can’t remember any show I’ve ever enjoyed more on TV. Excellent cast, interesting storyline. Just can’t imagine it having low ratings. Some of the JUNK on TV these days has me turning the TV off!! Would love to see The Firm back — any night would be fine , I would find a way to watch it !!!
I love The Firm!! I love the action and the cast! Please do NOT cancel this show. Give it a chance. Please show it on a night when some of us who “have a brain” can watch it. I am sick to death of reality shows and this is a wonderful change!!
Of course it will get cancelled – it’s well written, well acted, and has great drama! No one is home on a Sat. night, of course, that’s the next time slot it gets. Geez. Why not try The Firm on another weekday before dumping it to Sat.! Do the networks think we all like reality shows? We don’t and guess what networks- we’re not all stupid airheads!
I enjoy this show. I am disappointed to see it is cancelled. The networks seem to give so little chance for new show to gain momentum and grow. Ever watch the first few episode of Friends or Seinfeld? Not good, they would NEVER have lasted in todays network philosphy for renewal. Granted those are comedies but I think the theory still applies. Yes, there are a LOT of choices for viewers and the competition is fierce. It is all about advertising dollars, I get that. But give the viewers a chance to find a show. The upside of the many… Read more »
C.Williams said exactly what I was going to say. Cancel good shows; replace with idiotic reality t.v. shows. Geez! What a shame.
What a SHAME!!! We never missed The Firm … loved it! Can’t figure why the ratings weren’t good. Every one who acted in the show was superb we thought.
Oh well, idiotic reality TV seems to be the “in thing!”
