What’s This TV Show About?
Airing on the ABC television network, The Genetic Detective follows investigative genetic genealogist CeCe Moore and her work with DNA technology company Parabon NanoLabs. In the series, Moore and her team revolutionize crime-solving by working with police departments and accessible crime scene DNA to help trace the path of a criminal suspect’s family tree, uncover their identity and bring them to justice. Since 2018, Moore has used her unique research skills to transform the face of crime-solving, helping to identify more than 100 violent criminal suspects.
Season One Ratings

Telly’s Take
The ratings for this show were pretty low. Moore has a solid following and the series seems inexpensive to produce but there’s been no word of it being renewed after more than two years. The show’s also been removed from ABC’s press site. There’s always a possibility that Genetic Detective could be revived for a second season but, for now, it appears to be done. My husband normally wouldn’t watch this but found out he’s fascinated by how they’re able to combine DNA and family connections. We both hope you continue the Series .. quickly!

This show has quickly become one of my favorites. Im very interested in DNA, and love crime shows. I would hate to see it canceled.

Big LIKE! A heartfelt scientific mystery! NOT a depressing who done it, but rather a show that takes time for the human aspects of crime. I’m also fascinated by the newest uses of DNA. Awaiting next episode and hope for 2nd season!

Please do not cancel this show. I believe it will get more and better ratings as long as the date and time isn’t scheduled where there is going to be a lot of competition.

We definitely want a Season 2. We watched it, every episode and will continue for Season 2.
Was disappointed that I missed the genetic detective last night. But then, I’m a retired homicide Dick. Amazing where science and technology has brought us.
