What’s This TV Show About?
Airing on the ABC television network, The Genetic Detective follows investigative genetic genealogist CeCe Moore and her work with DNA technology company Parabon NanoLabs. In the series, Moore and her team revolutionize crime-solving by working with police departments and accessible crime scene DNA to help trace the path of a criminal suspect’s family tree, uncover their identity and bring them to justice. Since 2018, Moore has used her unique research skills to transform the face of crime-solving, helping to identify more than 100 violent criminal suspects.
Season One Ratings

Telly’s Take
The ratings for this show were pretty low. Moore has a solid following and the series seems inexpensive to produce but there’s been no word of it being renewed after more than two years. The show’s also been removed from ABC’s press site. There’s always a possibility that Genetic Detective could be revived for a second season but, for now, it appears to be done. Love Genetic Detective. I find it so interesting and creative. Enjoy the work detectives do to make it all happen and the DNA use. Then when CeCe does her magic Wow. There really is justice. Makes me feel hope in this crazy world. Terrific program. Keep it going season after season.
