What’s This TV Show About?
Airing on the ABC television network, The Genetic Detective follows investigative genetic genealogist CeCe Moore and her work with DNA technology company Parabon NanoLabs. In the series, Moore and her team revolutionize crime-solving by working with police departments and accessible crime scene DNA to help trace the path of a criminal suspect’s family tree, uncover their identity and bring them to justice. Since 2018, Moore has used her unique research skills to transform the face of crime-solving, helping to identify more than 100 violent criminal suspects.
Season One Ratings

Telly’s Take
The ratings for this show were pretty low. Moore has a solid following and the series seems inexpensive to produce but there’s been no word of it being renewed after more than two years. The show’s also been removed from ABC’s press site. There’s always a possibility that Genetic Detective could be revived for a second season but, for now, it appears to be done. It seemed mainly like an ad for a very narcissistic Cece Moore. Here’s my great house, my family, everything that has nothing to do with this crime we’re pretending to investigate. Thank goodness it’s gone.

The Genetic Detective was a great new show. With all the true murder shows o TV, this one has a different solving method. It does need to be advertised better.

I think k this show is one of the best shows that has been produced on Tv. It has such possibility to solve crimes that people agonize over for years and years. Please consider a second season.

I really would like a season 2. I loved it!!! Through a genetic site, my 1/2 sister and I found each other. I never knew she existed until I was 55 yrs old. Genetics are just fact, plain and simple. My mother would never have imagined we would find each other 4 years ago. She still lives in denial, I live with the truth.
