Is there still a future for The Kids Are Alright? Recently, star Mary McCormack spoke with The Los Angeles Times about her efforts to save the cancelled ABC TV show.
Set in the 1970s, the sitcom centers on the Clearys, an Irish-Catholic family living on the outskirts of Los Angeles. The cast includes Michael Cudlitz, Mary McCormack, Sam Straley, Caleb Foote, Sawyer Barth, Christopher Paul Richards, Jack Gore, Andy Walken, and Santino Barnard.
In the interview, McCormack says she thinks ABC cancelled The Kids Are Alright before its time:
It feels too short. It’s hard to get something really funny and nuanced and moving, and I thought our show was all those things. There’s a lot of stuff I don’t understand about how shows find new homes, but you do hear about it. And I guess because you hear about it, your fans think there’s hope. There are just so many networks now — networks I’ve never heard of. So I’m still holding out a little hope that someone will look at us and see we’re like the already housebroken cute shelter pet that needs someone to adopt them.”

Please bring it back !! Was one of the BEST shows in a long time, did not give it a fair chance. All chapters soo we l k developed, loved them all. And so Ooo funny & true. Hilarious ! If ANC won’t bring back, hope another station can .
I would have watched 10 more seasons of that show. I hope someone picks it up.

Loved the show. It was so very funny and unique. Made me remember so much from my youth. We would definitely watch it no matter what channel it was on!!
My wife and I loved it! (Even though neither one of us were alive then). Michael Cudlitz was great (just as in Walking Dead); the kids were good too. It’s a fun show.

I loved the show. First the 70s motif, and second, the characters were just like all the wonderful Catholic families I knew growing up. From Dad, Mom, and every one of the kids. Please bring it back. And Speechless, too.

ABC cancelled this show way too soon. No room in today’s demographic sensitive world for older people who actually grew up in that era
I liked the show and was disappointed that ABC canceled it.
We knew that ABC had to cancel 2-3 shows to make room for new shows in the fall.
I guess ABC felt the ratings weren’t good enough
