What’s This TV Show About?
Airing on the Showtime cable channel, The L Word: Generation Q is a sequel to The L Word series which ran on the same channel, from 2004-2009. It stars Jennifer Beals, Katherine Moennig, Leisha Hailey, Arienne Mandi, Leo Sheng, Jacqueline Toboni, Rosanny Zayas, Sepideh Moafi, and Jordan Hull. Season two guests include Rosie O’Donnell, Donald Faison, Griffin Dunne, and Vanessa Williams. The current iteration continues to follow the intermingled lives of Bette Porter (Beals), Shane McCutcheon (Moennig), Alice Pieszecki (Hailey), Dani Nùñez (Mandi), Micah Lee (Sheng), Sarah Finley (Toboni), Sophie Suarez (Zayas), Gigi Ghorbani (Moafi), and Angelica Porter-Kennard (Hull) as they experience love, heartbreak, setbacks, and success in Los Angeles.
Season Two Ratings
The second season of The L Word: Generation Q averaged a 0.01 rating in the 18-49 demographic and 74,000 viewers in the live+same day ratings (includes all DVR playback through 3:00 AM). Compared to season one, that’s down by 74% in the demo and down by 64% in viewership in the live+same day ratings (including DVR playback through 3:00 AM). While these numbers don’t include further delayed or streaming viewing, they are a very good indicator of how a show is performing, especially when compared to others on the same channel. Though other economic factors are involved, the higher-rated shows usually get renewed and the lower-rated ones get cancelled. Find out how The L Word: Generation Q stacks up against other Showtime TV shows.
The L Word: Generation Q has been renewed for a third season which will debut on November 20, 2022. Stay tuned for further updates.
Telly’s Take
Will Showtime cancel or renew The L Word: Generation Q for season three? Showtime series often draw low viewership but the traditional ratings for this show have been particularly low. Unless the streaming numbers are much better, I have doubts that it will be renewed. I’ll update this page with breaking developments. I’m praying for a third season of LWord Gen Q…it has impacted my life in such a way that my well being was enhanced resulting in much healing ..
The l word has always been extremely important to the lbgtq community. Gen q has really been wonderful to watch as they touch on many important aspects of our experience, plus the women are gorgeous! I tend to stream, dvr so ratings to me are unreported. It must get renewed!!
I like the show but its not a good as the l word it was they best. This one is kinda slow and not enough love between couples
i love the L word and i absolutely love generation q. I am hoping it continues to renew.
I loved the L Word and now I absolutely love Generation Q! And I want it to continue. It has a lot more to offer.
If they want to be renewed, they need new writers. Last week’s show was cringe-worthy. Fans deserve better.
I hope the show is not cancelled but i was hoping when Finley went back home she would stay there. She bugs me from her bed hopping to her hairy pits. Mostly her pits.
yes her god awful pits or forrest who knows wats living in there lol
Renew for session 3!!
I would be so upset if the L word was canceled…..I really look forward to watching each episode. I think it’s full of surprises and sexy and classy all in one. Very believable!!! Please DO NOT CANCEL!!!❤️❤️❤️❤️
I love L Word Generation Q, just like I loved the original show. I hope it is renewed. I hear when others say they need to talk and show more about other ideas in our communities. You know, bi, trans, binary, non, etc. etc, etc. I think for the time and space they have, they do a great job. This year, 10 shows, 10 hours. I enjoy what they do and contribute and as one who is older, seeing a show that represents a others like me. I don’t mean how they look which is extraordinarily beautiful, the jobs they… Read more »
