What’s This TV Show About?
Airing on the Showtime cable channel, The L Word: Generation Q is a sequel to The L Word series which ran on the same channel, from 2004-2009. It stars Jennifer Beals, Katherine Moennig, Leisha Hailey, Arienne Mandi, Leo Sheng, Jacqueline Toboni, Rosanny Zayas, Sepideh Moafi, and Jordan Hull. Season two guests include Rosie O’Donnell, Donald Faison, Griffin Dunne, and Vanessa Williams. The current iteration continues to follow the intermingled lives of Bette Porter (Beals), Shane McCutcheon (Moennig), Alice Pieszecki (Hailey), Dani Nùñez (Mandi), Micah Lee (Sheng), Sarah Finley (Toboni), Sophie Suarez (Zayas), Gigi Ghorbani (Moafi), and Angelica Porter-Kennard (Hull) as they experience love, heartbreak, setbacks, and success in Los Angeles.
Season Two Ratings
The second season of The L Word: Generation Q averaged a 0.01 rating in the 18-49 demographic and 74,000 viewers in the live+same day ratings (includes all DVR playback through 3:00 AM). Compared to season one, that’s down by 74% in the demo and down by 64% in viewership in the live+same day ratings (including DVR playback through 3:00 AM). While these numbers don’t include further delayed or streaming viewing, they are a very good indicator of how a show is performing, especially when compared to others on the same channel. Though other economic factors are involved, the higher-rated shows usually get renewed and the lower-rated ones get cancelled. Find out how The L Word: Generation Q stacks up against other Showtime TV shows.
The L Word: Generation Q has been renewed for a third season which will debut on November 20, 2022. Stay tuned for further updates.
Telly’s Take
Will Showtime cancel or renew The L Word: Generation Q for season three? Showtime series often draw low viewership but the traditional ratings for this show have been particularly low. Unless the streaming numbers are much better, I have doubts that it will be renewed. I’ll update this page with breaking developments. What do you think? Are you glad that The L Word: Generation Q TV show has been renewed for a third season? How would you feel if Showtime had cancelled this TV series, instead?
Hey my name is Frankie Montgomery I’m 22 and this show taught me a lot about my self Tina and Bette are my favorite please hurry wit the season finale for the L word and season 3 for the L word GQ please I can’t wait any longer
How many will be okay with a season 3 with Bette and Pippa as a couple?
It as got to carry on and on and on it’s so good
i agree donna its so poor its never gonna last and with poor ratings in america i cannot see it renewing it i would be very suprised if it is though
The L word generation Q is One of the best all inclusive programs on tv. It not only helps people who are going through similar situations but it also can help families understand there diverse child and their sexual orientation.
Top notch programming.
Renew. And my heart so ks thinking Bett and Tina will never be together again. Blah.
Renew. Make the seasons longer too. That way the charavters and relationships can be built with the audience. But please dont cancel it with the ending just being Tina at Bette’s door while she going to see Pippa. I will cuss y’all out.
We waited such a long time for the L word to return, and it was good to catch up with the old favourites and meet some new ones, but just like the original series it has ended on a cliff hanger ,sk I hope we get to see another series and don,t have to wait years and years to see what happened to all the girls please don,t leave us all hanging.
Renew, I love having a lesbian show to watch for a change.
Please renew!!! The show has progressed into a fantastic interesting show with great down to earth story lines
Renew ! Renew ! Renew… do it now!
Why is it taking so long to determine if TLWGQ will be renewed or not?
Comparing the original L Word to Gen Q is simply unfair. While the sequel retains a lot of the original cast members, with hope of others returning, Gen Q must remain its own entity to be truly appreciated. And I think it is! I have really enjoyed the drama, the relationships, and the overall LGBTQ story lines and entertainment. This demographic needs a show that reflects their lives. Even if it was a bad reflection, which it isn’t always, it’s still needed if only as an outlet. I would love to see it renewed.
you cannot compare a good ogs to a very woeful crap gen q lol
Loved the original L Word. I love seeing the original cast members back. I need my dose of lesbian on television. It is so good to be represented when some of us have gotten up there in age and have lost our community. At least I can see myself on television. Please renew this groundbreaking show! I just wish that Finley would shower!
And shave!
touché lol
and shave too lol
I absolutely Love this show especially Gigi and Dani and Tibette please renew!!!!!!!.
I rather Generation Q get cancelled cause it is so bad compared to the original L Word. Showtime is making fools of the best characters, Shane and Bette. Shane’s with a woman who cannot act and their relationship came out of thin air. Showtime bated fans from beginning when Sarah Shahi stated she would be in reboot and denied her return. Bette turned into an ***** and they keep baiting with Tibette. Reboot should build not tear down.
and the winner is natalie telling it as it should well said
Why is it taking so long to determine if the show will be renewed and not? They must have all of the numbers in by now
