You can experience the magic a little earlier. According to Deadline, Syfy is airing the first episode of its new series The Magicians a month early on December 16th.

The fantasy drama is officially set to premiere on January 25th.

Based on Lev Grossman’s book trilogy of the same name, The Magicians centers on Quentin Coldwater, a student accepted to a hyper exclusive school for magicians called Brakebills Academy. There, he encounters a world of magic he didn’t know existed before.

The series stars Jason Ralph as Quentin in addition to Sosie Bacon, Hale Appleman, and Summer Bishil.

You can see the first episode on Syfy on December 16th, at 10 p.m.
