TV show description:
Living in the small town of Orson, Indiana (the “middle” of the country), Frankie Heck (Patricia Heaton) is a supermom. She’s kept busy wrangling three quirky kids, trying to keep her husband on track and working to sell cars for a local dealership. Unfortunately, she doesn’t do any of the jobs in a way that makes her very proud.
At work, she’s the third best salesperson but there’s only three salespeople and she consistently fails to make a sale. Her grumpy boss, Mr. Ehlert (Brian Doyle-Murray), is constantly threatening to fire her. Her friend and number two salesman, Bob (Chris Kattan), isn’t much better off and helps Frankie out where he can.
Mike Heck (Neil Flynn) is Frankie’s husband and works as a quarry manager. He doesn’t have a very orthodox parenting style, isn’t a very sensitive husband, and is known for being brutally honest. He loves Frankie though and together, they do their best to get through life.
Axl Heck (Charlie McDermott) is the oldest of the two Heck boys and was conceived during his parents’ Guns ‘n Roses period. He’s a typical teenage boy who’s sullen, eats the family out of house and home, and also has a penchant for walking around in his underwear. When his parents want to punish Axl, they wish that he had something cool like a car, TV, or cell phone that they could take away from him.
Sue Heck (Eden Sher) is the Hecks’ teenage daughter. As the middle child, she seems to be suffering from Jan Brady syndrome and doesn’t seem to be able to find her niche. Sue fails at everything she tries with great gusto. She never gives up but her parents kind of wish she would.
Brick Heck (Atticus Shaffer) is the youngest son and is known for his odd behavior. His best friend is his backpack and he whispers to himself for comfort. He loves to read and is likely the most intelligent Heck in the family.
Episode #215 – A Heck of a Ride, Part 2
After nine hilarious and heartfelt seasons, a Heck leaves the nest as the family takes a road trip to Denver, where Axl will start his new job – and new life away from home.
First aired: May 22, 2018.
What do you think? Do you like The Middle TV show? Do you think it should have been renewed for a 10th season?
I think the show should’ve been renewed this way I showed the next generation it would evening be neat to see brick being a father also aunt Sue being a mother. It was a sad day to see the last episode I hope maybe they bring it back.
It is such a disappointment to see this wonderful show end. I felt as if I was losing part of my own family. They did everything right. Perhaps, that was the reason for ABC’s decision.
Loved the show , it was, a funny wholesome family show, and I am sorry to see it end.
I am going to miss the show, and I think it should have been renewed. It is every bit as good as Roseanne, and I wanted to see what happened to Sue and Brick after they graduated. I wanted Sue to end up with Sean.
I am sad the show ended. It was awesome, I will miss the characters the charm and the family fun. Please change your mind and put it back on. Roseanne is back. Why not the Middle.
I absolutely love this show. I am extremely sad that it’s over and would love to see it renewed – even though it already done… but hey they brought Roseanne back, they can say just kidding and have another couple of seasons
I too am so sad this show ended. I’ve watched it from the beginning and absolutely love the characters, the story line and the comedy! Please, please renew this show.
Sooooo sad to see this show leave. I recorded it if I was unable to be home to watch it. Such a GREAT show…….cannot believe it has ended. Would LOVE to see it come back!!!!!!!
I’m so sad to see them go. It was one of my favourite shows, always make me laugh and sometimes even cry. I loved it.
Thank you for such a heart warming show. I will miss them.
I love this show and I will miss it. I think it could have gone on much longer.
I’m really upset that The Middle was cancelled. One of the best family shows on t.v. and yet it’s gone. Neilson ratings were to blame? They got it wrong!
I love this show! One of the few, if the only show I’ve watched, that maintained its integrity from the pilot to the finale. It never got tired – always fresh, always quality. In my opinion it could have gone on for a few more years. I’m sorry to see it go. Thank goodness for the re-runs. Happy they had an epilogue at the end of the finale. I’m really going to miss this family.
I loved the show!! I would like to see it return!! I like it better than the Goldbergs!
I have loved this show for 9 years… so sad to see it go!
