NBC is hoping that fans of The Night Shift will continue staying up to watch their medical drama. They’ve renewed it for a third season.
The Night Shift revolves around the quirky but devoted staffmembers of San Antonio Memorial Hospital who work from dusk til dawn. The cast of the medical drama includes Eoin Macken, Freddy Rodriguez, Jill Flint, Ken Leung, Robert Bailey Jr., Brendan Fehr, Jeananne Goossen, and J.R. Lemon.
The medical drama debuted last May and performed pretty well for a series running over the summer months. The season of 10 episodes averaged a 1.37 rating in the 18-49 demographic with 6.59 million viewers.
The peacock network renewed it for a second season of 14 episodes and brought it back a couple months ago. Despite having a big series like The Voice as a lead-in, the ratings have actually come down. It’s currently averaging a 1.3 in the demo with 5.32 million.
Nevertheless, it has performed better than many other NBC dramas. As a result, the network has now renewed The Night Shift for a third season. No word on how many episodes have been ordered this time around or when they’ll air them.

I enjoy the show Night Shift and tape it when I am working…I like the actors in it and gives you reality of what happens in an er at nights. You can’t just leave TC’s girlfriend in a coma, pregnant and him with the ring….that would be wrong. When will get be coming back…it is better than all these reality shows coming on now….I don’t watch them at all.

Love, love the Night Shift. Would absolutely hate to see it go. I looked forward to watching it each week. The show had real issues that you can relate too. Not like some shows on TV these days. Plz renew it.
I love this show even though it’s a medical show it doesn’t take it self to seriously and the cast really work well together I’m really glad it was renewed

When ever the night shift is on my gram and I sit together and watch it together as a family. It would be great if they can do ten seasons. And it would be nice for season 3 to air on my birthday Which is October 15. Thanks
