The Orville stars Seth MacFarlane, Adrianne Palicki, Penny Johnson Jerald, Scott Grimes, Peter Macon, Halston Sage, J Lee, and Mark Jackson. The sci-fi action-adventure series centers on Captain Ed Mercer (Seth MacFarlane), of The U.S.S. Orville, and First Officer Kelly Grayson (Palicki) — his ex-wife. Whether facing off with the Krill, a dangerous alien race, or attempting rescues on behalf of the Planetary Union, the human and alien crew still must deal with their mundane issues and each other.
The second season of The Orville averaged a 0.75 rating in the 18-49 demographic and 3.16 million viewers. Compared to season one, that is down by 40% and 27%, respectively.
What do you think? Are you a fan of The Orville TV show on FOX? Do you plan to watch season three?
Seems like all the main stream stations are now coming up with their own PAY PER VIEW programs. First it was CBS, ESPN, Disney and now FOX. I dare say they’ll keep the garbage sitcoms on the free over the airwave channels.. but if you want the better programming, you’ll have to “subscribe” at $5.99+ per month in addition to your cable, satellite, Hulu, Sling, Roku etc. It’s getting utterly ridiculous.
Love the show Orville and can not wait for season three… just finished watching seasons one and two again!!
I definitely plan on watching it’s one of my favorite shows
We LOVE the Orville…not so crazy about the EXCESSIVE commercials they cut it up with though..and that goes for “911” too…it’s almost unwatchable..
If it gets too bad this time around, we might just stop watching and wait until we can buy them both on DVD..
I love the Orville, but no commercials for me as I subscribe to Direct TV. No commercials on the premium channels such as Fox, Netflix, Hulu. I would continue to watch on Fox network TV if I didn’t have cable.
Too long between seasons! I hate to wait. Probably the reason season 2 viewers were down, by the time season 2 came out everyone had forgotten about it, or just lost interest. We really liked Orville. Cast was a perfect fit, storylines were close to genius & for the most part “different” from any other show, loved the puns & sneaky references to other shows, networks & politics. But I hope I am still alive when season 3 finally premieres! Maybe they could do a mid season special (i.e. Doctor Who Christmas special).. just to keep the antici…. pation going… Read more »
I just read that The Orville season 3 is going to Hulu.
Stupid, and greedy move.
How so stupid and greedy?
Now you have to PAY EXTRA for a HULU SUBSCRIPTION just to what it. Then who knows if it will ever be released to DVD.
1/7/2020
I just tread that it be back on Fox.
We need more shows like this
I really hope there is another series aired here in the UK , I really love the show and cast also the similarity to Star Trek but with much more humour , it makes it more real and errr human !
Please make it so !
Looking forward to the watching the new season IF, and ONLY if, it is NOT ON HULU. I am certainly NOT going to subscribe to HULU just to watch one show.
when does it start up again
I love the show and want season 3 now
I want season 3 . Bring it on. It’s intelligent and well produced
Does anybody see the irony here? The reason with Star Trek going on CBS streaming service was a plus for The Orville’s ratings and popularity. The change will hurt, losing ppl with limited means, can’t afford All the services. TV should not be for a price, it was at one time for nothing. Funny, Star Trek influenced shows have gone down the same rabbit hole.
yes I plan yo warch
I am a disabled Navy/Marine Corpsman and enjoy the heck out of The Orville but moving it to hulu makes it financially out of my reach. Seems all the great series gets moved to another costly station. Not very fair for somebody on an already tight budget. I have already given up several shows due to jumping off the already high cost cable stations to special stations.
I won’t subscribe to HULU either, if it goes there..My cable bill is already high enough..I’ll just wait and see if it eventually comes out on DVD..If not, so be it…
It was fun while it lasted..
Some of these corporations are just too greedy for their own good..
