NBC has evicted one of its newest drama series. The network has cancelled The Village TV show so there won’t be a second season.
The Village stars Warren Christie, Michaela McManus, Lorraine Toussaint, Frankie Faison, Jerod Haynes, Dominic Chianese, Darren Kagasoff, Grace Van Dien, and Moran Atias. The story centers on the residents of a Brooklyn apartment building. While it looks the same as countless others from the outside, what goes on inside is rare, to say the least. Everyone at the Village has a story to tell, be it about their hopes and dreams, or the challenges they’re facing. Together, they’re a family and family means everything — even when you are not related.
The first season of The Village averaged a 0.66 rating in the 18-49 demographic and 4.12 million viewers. The defacto series finale aired on May 21st.
Compared to the other scripted NBC TV shows of the 2018-19 season, The Village ranks 13th in the demo and ninth in viewership. The series saw a momentary bump in the ratings ratings when NBC moved it an earlier timeslot but it didn’t last and the numbers soon hit new lows.
Today, the Peacock Network also cancelled The Enemy Within and Abby’s TV shows.
What do you think? Do you like The Village TV show? Are you sorry that it’s been cancelled. Would you have watched season two on NBC?
Great show. Bad decision cancelling it. Friends I spoke to had not heard about it so it seems your advertising staff dropped the ball. How can people watch if they do not know it exists. Let’s get rid of the reality shows instead.
Loved this show! Extremely disappointed they canceled it!! They must not think of everyone who doesnt have regular TV and watch these shows on Hulu toward their ratings! They cancel all the good shows!!

The Village has become one of my favorite shows. Love all the characters, how they interact and all the storylines. Please bring it back!’
So sad to hear this show is cancelled. Such an amazing cast with a story line that kept me so interested and wanting more. I really which NBC would reconsider. This is such disappointing news
Please bring back this show!! This is a tremendous loss by canceling this wonderful drama. This is one of the best shows to ever air on television.
Please bring “The Village” back! We love this show! Very uplifting and down to earth. A community caring about and helping one another. We agree with Kim, that there are way too many trash TV series and reality shows! My husband and I looked forward to the next episode each week and hated when the season one ended. Please bring it back!
I agree whole heartedly. Best family show in years. I’ve been telling everyone about it. I’m heart broken it was cancelled .
Super sad The Village was canceled. Had it my DVR and finally got a chance to watch this weekend. Loved it. Too many reality, singing and whatever else on prime time. This one was a good one to get lost in. C’mon NBC!
The Village is a very uplifting series and it’s too bad it is being cancelled. There are so many tv series that are flat out trash and far too many reality shows. The Village is refreshing and the sense of community the characters have is something we don’t get enough of on tv. I hope the producers will reconsider The Village for another season.
Kim, We couldn’t agree more!! So much trash TV and reality shows that we could care less about!! We fell in love with what these families were going through and how they were genuine toward one another and loved each other! Please bring back “The Village”!! We love it and would love to see it come back!!
Bad call cancelling The Village! Such a GREAT show! Super disappointed!!!

I loved this show! It had real life drama! I connected with all of the characters.
I hope another network picks up this show!
Yes, so many questions were left unanswered.
Season two would be fabulous!
I Love The Village. NBC should give it a chance!
Fox should give this show another chance.
I liked this show because it involve every day people
dealing with human problems.
It was big change from all the police and doctors
show on tv networks
Such a shame that a show with good acting along with good writing is cancelled. The Village was much loved by our family. Go figure… something with substance is gone and all the other garbage on television gets renewed. Awful.
