NBC has evicted one of its newest drama series. The network has cancelled The Village TV show so there won’t be a second season.
The Village stars Warren Christie, Michaela McManus, Lorraine Toussaint, Frankie Faison, Jerod Haynes, Dominic Chianese, Darren Kagasoff, Grace Van Dien, and Moran Atias. The story centers on the residents of a Brooklyn apartment building. While it looks the same as countless others from the outside, what goes on inside is rare, to say the least. Everyone at the Village has a story to tell, be it about their hopes and dreams, or the challenges they’re facing. Together, they’re a family and family means everything — even when you are not related.
The first season of The Village averaged a 0.66 rating in the 18-49 demographic and 4.12 million viewers. The defacto series finale aired on May 21st.
Compared to the other scripted NBC TV shows of the 2018-19 season, The Village ranks 13th in the demo and ninth in viewership. The series saw a momentary bump in the ratings ratings when NBC moved it an earlier timeslot but it didn’t last and the numbers soon hit new lows.
Today, the Peacock Network also cancelled The Enemy Within and Abby’s TV shows.
What do you think? Do you like The Village TV show? Are you sorry that it’s been cancelled. Would you have watched season two on NBC?
Sooooooooooooo disappointed, I can’t believe NBC cancelled The Village. Was so looking forward to the new season. What is wrong with the people at NBC???

I really enjoyed the diversity of the cast. I thought the stories were compelling. I’m sad that the show will not be renewed.
This is one of the best series on TV.. I loved it so much that I have watched it three times since it finished the run of the first series. The theme was something very new and refreshing. The characters were real and believable. Top quality storytelling and acting. So disappointed that it is not going to be continued. Please reconsider and let us know what is going to happen to all of the characters. Such a shame that such a good quality program is not going to be produced anymore when there are such rubbish programs that continue. This… Read more »
My husband and I are so disappointed that The Village has been cancelled!!!! We loved every episode and really looked forward to the great acting and family feel of this wonderful show!! We never watch the reality shows!! It’s unbelievable that this quality of show isn’t coming back on!! PLEASE give it another season and hopefully, more viewers will watch!! I don’t know what these people are watching? The Village has the same good family feeling as This Is Us!! You don’t have to be family to feel like family!! We are SO disappointed!! Thank you for considering our request!!
My husband and I enjoyed this show very much and are very disappointed this show has been canceled. It was well written and thought provoking. Hoping NBC reconsiders and keeps this quality program!
