NBC has evicted one of its newest drama series. The network has cancelled The Village TV show so there won’t be a second season.
The Village stars Warren Christie, Michaela McManus, Lorraine Toussaint, Frankie Faison, Jerod Haynes, Dominic Chianese, Darren Kagasoff, Grace Van Dien, and Moran Atias. The story centers on the residents of a Brooklyn apartment building. While it looks the same as countless others from the outside, what goes on inside is rare, to say the least. Everyone at the Village has a story to tell, be it about their hopes and dreams, or the challenges they’re facing. Together, they’re a family and family means everything — even when you are not related.
The first season of The Village averaged a 0.66 rating in the 18-49 demographic and 4.12 million viewers. The defacto series finale aired on May 21st.
Compared to the other scripted NBC TV shows of the 2018-19 season, The Village ranks 13th in the demo and ninth in viewership. The series saw a momentary bump in the ratings ratings when NBC moved it an earlier timeslot but it didn’t last and the numbers soon hit new lows.
Today, the Peacock Network also cancelled The Enemy Within and Abby’s TV shows.

I was definitely looking forward to season 2 as was my sister and my mother….one of the better heart warming shows on TV. Very disappointed in NBC.

Absolutely LOVE this show!! So disappointed that NBC will not give it a season 2. They cancel shows before they even have a chance. This show was another “This Is Us” & had heart!! It was a great show. So sad to see it not come back & to be left hanging after the season finale. Please reconsider!!!!!!
Absolutely ridiculous! Was anxious for 2nd season. Was as good as This is Us and A Million Little Things. Very disappointed.
I loved this show. Something real life and different. I’m disappointed.
We loved The Village! Would rush home to watch and when it changed to earlier, we would watch on demand. Would LOVE to see it come back for a second season ❤️

Amazingly disappointed. I didnt catch this show until a few weeks ago in Hulu. Immediately hooked. The storyline and the characters are amazing. The mistake was putting it on anywhere close to This Is Us.
PLEASE, PLEASE, PLEASE BRING BACK THE VILLAGE – such a great show and it depicts life – there are way to many reality shows on – cancel some of those!!

Definitely disappointed. I was looking forward to finding out how it all turns out. A reason I don’t watch network TV any longer. The shows disappear before they even get a chance.

This is why I hate starting new shows you fall in love with an absolutely GREAT show and some stupid suits say ots not rating high enough and cancels it. This stinks NBC you need to bring it back!!!!!
