NBC has evicted one of its newest drama series. The network has cancelled The Village TV show so there won’t be a second season.
The Village stars Warren Christie, Michaela McManus, Lorraine Toussaint, Frankie Faison, Jerod Haynes, Dominic Chianese, Darren Kagasoff, Grace Van Dien, and Moran Atias. The story centers on the residents of a Brooklyn apartment building. While it looks the same as countless others from the outside, what goes on inside is rare, to say the least. Everyone at the Village has a story to tell, be it about their hopes and dreams, or the challenges they’re facing. Together, they’re a family and family means everything — even when you are not related.
The first season of The Village averaged a 0.66 rating in the 18-49 demographic and 4.12 million viewers. The defacto series finale aired on May 21st.
Compared to the other scripted NBC TV shows of the 2018-19 season, The Village ranks 13th in the demo and ninth in viewership. The series saw a momentary bump in the ratings ratings when NBC moved it an earlier timeslot but it didn’t last and the numbers soon hit new lows.
Today, the Peacock Network also cancelled The Enemy Within and Abby’s TV shows.
What do you think? Do you like The Village TV show? Are you sorry that it’s been cancelled. Would you have watched season two on NBC?
The Village is excellent. It is very disappointing that it was cancelled. I hope another network picks it up. It showed people who are a community. The characters were so unique. They tackled so many pertinent societal issues. Shane on NBC not giving it another season.
Can’t believe they aren’t bringing this show back! I loved The Village more then This is Us. I did record this on my DVR so I am just finishing it. And very disappointed I got online to see when it was coming back on and seen it was canceled! I am so upset about this!! I believe it got lower ratings because of the time of year it came on tv. If it was q different season I think ratings would of been higher! I’m still shocked I thought this show related to so many and would have higher ratings!… Read more »
You corporate $$$ Hogs!!!! A Great, simple, down to earth show you people have to rate over views & $$$$ is Disgusting!!!! All about Your rating when you have nothing else good but the Chicago shows!!!!
What a waste to get people hooked then cancel!!!
Way To Go NBC!!!!!
A program full of promise and a shining example of the best of us during good and difficult times. Loved this program because it wasn’t about us vs. them, it was about what binds us. This network didn’t provide enough time to prosper.
This was one of the best shows on TV. I liked it even more then “This is Us”.
The network didn’t even give it a chance.
So disappointed it isn’t being renewed.
.
I loved The Village!! I am terribly disappointed with NBC’s decision to cancel!! There are so many ridiculous shows on now. Why would they choose to cancel a heart-warming, drama such as The Village?! Doesn’t it take a village to keep us all centered?!
The village was an interesting show with lots of potential for unending story lines. Very disappointing the show was canceled. Hopefully it will be picked up by Netflix or Amazon…
Bring the show back. It was so good. We need more of this and less reality TV shows that are mindless
So sad and disappointed this show got cancelled. It was the only thing I watched other Than this is us. We were left hanging. Bring it back!
Stupid move by NBC, The Village is a really good show. I don’t get why they don’t give some shows a chance.
This is the worst news ever I LOVED this show I can’t believe they took it away
I LOVED The Village and looked forward to watching it each week. It related to all ages of people young to old which was rather unique for a TV show. I’m so sorry to hear it has cancelled!
I LOVED the show! I hate that it is cancelled!
This was the best show I’ve watched all year. Why even get into a show anymore if it’s just going to be cancelled after the first season. Truly disappointed
I am so disappointed :(. Loved The Village! I thought it had potential to be better than This is Us. NBC didn’t even give it a chance. They continue to renew crap and the good shows get cancelled. I hope another network will revive this wonderful show.
