NBC has evicted one of its newest drama series. The network has cancelled The Village TV show so there won’t be a second season.
The Village stars Warren Christie, Michaela McManus, Lorraine Toussaint, Frankie Faison, Jerod Haynes, Dominic Chianese, Darren Kagasoff, Grace Van Dien, and Moran Atias. The story centers on the residents of a Brooklyn apartment building. While it looks the same as countless others from the outside, what goes on inside is rare, to say the least. Everyone at the Village has a story to tell, be it about their hopes and dreams, or the challenges they’re facing. Together, they’re a family and family means everything — even when you are not related.
The first season of The Village averaged a 0.66 rating in the 18-49 demographic and 4.12 million viewers. The defacto series finale aired on May 21st.
Compared to the other scripted NBC TV shows of the 2018-19 season, The Village ranks 13th in the demo and ninth in viewership. The series saw a momentary bump in the ratings ratings when NBC moved it an earlier timeslot but it didn’t last and the numbers soon hit new lows.
Today, the Peacock Network also cancelled The Enemy Within and Abby’s TV shows.
What do you think? Do you like The Village TV show? Are you sorry that it’s been cancelled. Would you have watched season two on NBC?
This is the only show on TV that I watched! I can’t believe it was canceled!! So upset!!
I just heard from a friend that The village was cancelled!!!! Are you kidding! That was a great show! I dont think you gave it a chance. It dealt with ever day life. So many issues that people feel and need to see and try to help one another. Please rethink this..big mistake to cancel this show!!! So disappointed, another good show removed!
I loved the show a looked forward to continuing watching it. Very disappointed that it was cancelled.
The Village not renewed for another season on NBC is so unexpected. The characters and story lines were excellent!! It always held my attention from start to finish, like a good book.
That’s very disappointing. My daughter and I watched it together and I thought it was an excellent show much like This Is Is which we also watch. Very good acting and great real life story line. I know so many people that love it. You should give it more time.
I am super disappointed! Was looking forward to season 2 of The Village! I am shocked!
I’m very disappointed The Village was cancelled. It was a good and nuanced story. It becomes more and more difficult to invest time on network TV – SO MANY good shows have been cancelled after one season (what is the point in watching?); so many uninteresting reality shows survive season after season.
The village was one of the best drama’s on tv and all my friends have been watching it. Please hring it back
Loved the show and very disappointed to hear it was canceled! I looked forward to each week and will miss one of the best shows on TV!!!
This was a wonderful show on so many levels. The writers took familiar concepts, created great/believable dialogue and a compelling plot that made for great storytelling. The characters were those that the audience could empathize with. They grew and developed and their lessons were relatable. The audience could connect to their struggles as well as their victories. The Village always left me wondering “what is next?” I never wanted an episode to end.
I am so dissapointed this show was cancelled my second favorite drama after this is us. Maybe nbc should reun it over summet see if it picks up steam. Or try different day. To good of a show to give up on!
I love this show. Always looked forward to watching it. Highly disappointed it was cancelled.
SO disappointed that you did not renew this show !! There were so many options for story lines. It was a late starter so you definitely didn’t give it a chance.
Deeply disappointed. Such a beautiful show that teaches all of us how to be more at peace with each other. I hope it is picked up elsewhere.
It is very upsetting that the Village was cancelled. It was an excellent show. One that I looked forward to and told everyone about it and they all loved it. I hope another network picks it up.
